I didn't expect the hotel to be a pleasant one. We chose this because although not cheap, it's more affordable than other big hotels and the location is excellent. We checked in 2 hours earlier than standard check-in time but we we were immediately provided with a room (non-smoking, deluxe twin for two adults and two kids, booked for 6 nights). It was Christmas and New Year season. The lobby and our room seemed well-maintained. Despite its old feel, it still felt grand and charming to me because of the gold motif. I can imagine how majestic it was when it was still new. Our room was very clean and spacious and had a nice view of the Fisherman's Wharf (Legend Palace Hotel). Because our room was very cold despite setting the thermostat to 32 degrees, we opted to remove the key card to automatically turn off the AC, lighting and other electrical facilities during bedtime. The beds were comfy, and the blankets were thick and warm. Excellent, efficient staffs including Filipino personnel who spoke Cantonese and Mandarin very well. Awesome location with a 24-hour supermarket and several bus stops nearby and within walking distance to Macau Ferry Terminal and Sands Macao for the hotel/casino shuttle buses. If the hotel could stay this way, we would love...
Read moreI had a comfortable stay with Hotel Golden Dragon on my first solo trip to Macau. Staff were warm and welcoming and were really helpful when I needed help with directions.Room was clean and amenities were topped up promptly during the daily room cleaning! I liked how the sheets and towels smelt and felt clean and fresh. The hotel is close to the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal and the shuttle terminal is also located nearby (apparently it has been temporarily moved to near Casino Oceanus due to renovation works at the ferry terminal). The only disappointment was the location for me. Although it’s close to the shuttle bus terminal and to public bus stops, I felt like it was not as “convenient” if I chose to stay near the Taipa area. But nonetheless I could be spoilt due to Singapore’s public transport system. Light rail works seems to be expanding and I do hope the next time I visit Macau, I could consider my stay with them again if public transportation or shuttle service is more convenient.Oh, last feedback would be hotel’s hair dryer is really dated which was a little...
Read moreThe rooms were refurbished and upto a great standard with comfortable beds and pillows. The room and bathrooms were very clean with amenities and free tea and coffee service. Even though view was not great the locations is only 50MOP and just 15mnts away from Cotai strip. You can take a free shuttle from airport to any of the major hotels in the strip and take a taxi back to hotel if you arrive before your check in time. Or you can direct come to the hotel either way its about 57MOP. The taxi takes HKD too as its 1:1 forex. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast can improve as it didnt have much options but given I stayed during a very busy weekend....compared to what hotels in Cotai cost...this was a great option as travelling to Venetian...City of Dreams...Studio City etc was just 15mnts away in a cab. Drivers understand English so you can easily communicate. A very safe city like HK. Airport to hotel is about 30mnts. All in all..great hotel for the money you pay...
