Ancestral Hostel — Hotel in Bogota, Capital District

Nice place, friendly owners/staff and very comfortable and quiet place.

It is however fairly new (visited in August 2023) and it needs some work. For example, the toilet in the dormitory doesn’t flush correctly and the automatic lights are bright and they turn on and off in an annoying way.

Kitchen is well-equipped and they have a washing machine and dryer you can use (dryer is not functioning properly and it took 3 cycles to dry a handful of clothes).

Has a lot of potential to be a 5-star hostel. Convenient location close to buses and cafes and shopping too. Great value for 50,000 pesos for a bed in dorms.

Would definitely stay...

I stayed here several times and in total over 3 weeks. The rooms are pretty and are well equipped, same for the common areas. The staff is super friendly and very uncomplicated. I'll definitely come back once I return to Bogota :) Thanks Monica...

Mónica y su hermano (disculpa se me olvidó el nombre jeje) son Excelentes host. Amamos el lugar esta súper lindo, y la energía es magnífica, caminamos al parque bicentenario muy que cerca. Debajo del hostel está un mini mercado y frente hay cafetería/restaurante muy rico y barato para mochileros :)

También está muy bien conectado con los buses para ir al aeropuerto o para la terminal.
