So far, the only good Asian food I was able to find while in Bogota. I ordered 4 dishes: Pad Thai : the best of the 4. Almost had all the proper ingredients but had the all the basic flavors. Sweet peanut sauce with noodles, eggs, chicken, shrimp, crushed peanuts, and bean sprouts. Missing green onion, tofu, shredded carrots and cabbage but the essential flavors were all there. Thai basil chicken over rice: very good also. Waitress told me it was going to be spicy but it barely registered, so maybe they have a different spiciness scale. Nice basil flavor with the lemongrass kick. The rice was a bit over cooked but it wasn't a big deal. Glass noodle salad with shrimp: gigantic shrimp with glass noodles, lime juice and lemongrass. Was hoping for a stronger flavor but is still really good. The fried garlic and crushed peanuts on top were perfect. Sashimi salad: the fish was pretty fresh and of decent quality. The cuts are not sushi chef level, so don't expect too much. The salad itself was very good. Nice big leaves of arugula, spinach, romaine lettuce with a good dressing. The fish sits on the side with soy sauce already marinaded. No wasabi available, unfortunately but was still pretty tasty.
The service is very good and the wait time wasn't long despite being fully packed for lunch. There's a host that manages it very well and a queue is followed. The prices are much higher than what you would find nearby for "Asian" food. I spent about $40 USD for 4 dishes, a Vietnamese coffee and a bottle of water but it's the closest you're going to find if you're craving for some Asian flavors. P. S. I'm from Los Angeles, home of amazing Asian food...
Read moreWok Museo was an enlightening experience with stellar service and very dense array of plates. We are Asian, so comparing this to what I've had in places like Vietnam and Malaysia is certainly not biased.
I received a chimichurri Thai salad (cherry tomatoes, herbs, ocanera onion and nuts, 9.65), The steak (con cortes de cadera de res a parrilla) was a bit small, but tender and flavorful. My father received the salmon Thai (albahaca Siam, pimenton Amado, nam-pla, chile, ajonjoli y arroz de sushi, $14). Lastly to finish, I tried the panacota with jasmine tea, caramel, and galleta de ajonjoli. All items were more than delicious.
One downside is that on a Wed evening, Wok Museo did not carry all the appetizer choices. I could not pick the Salchichas Khmer or the Laab Portobello. They recommended the shrimp spring rolls, so...
Read moreI went to this restaurant based on good reviews, however the service was extremely bad. The waitress didnât get our order right. Also we asked for the main course to be served after the appetizer, but after a while of waiting they brought everything together. When we complained the manager came and took the plates and talked to other customers while holding the plates, we thought she was going to change them but we were surprised that she brought them back heated in a microwave. As a result the food was so dry and didnât taste good. The manager had a very very arrogant attitude. She never even apologized for not getting the starters order right. I donât recommend the place and for sure will never go back again. Some of the waiters seemed sorry but never...
