Incredible dinner to kick off our first day in Bogota. After settling into our hotel we decided to go out for dinner nearby and this place was suggested by our hotel manager. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the hostess made sure to find us “the best view” seat which is on the outside terrace providing a view of Monserrate. Our server “Elvis” then went on to give us a tour of the restaurant and we even got a few pictures since it was not that busy yet (we had an early dinner). Once we were seated, we were served various selections of traditional Colombian dishes with a modern twist which we enjoyed very much. Particularly the plantain croquettes which were stuffed with meat, and the pork belly were notably delicious. For entrée I had the chicken cooked in the traditional native way, it was absolutely delicious! The dessert was also great and we even had a traditional warm drink that is drank by the natives during cold weather. All in all, we at the Zasón Guide definitely recommend visiting Origen if you are in Bogota. Extraordinary: Presentation, Service, Creativity, Ambience,...
Read moreBeautiful Colombian restaurant. We had lemonada de coco, mango, and mora. I enjoyed lemonada de coco here because they used delicious coco chips on top of the drink. The coco chips were delicious. For appetizer I would highly recommend the fried yuca with cheese. It was perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The mojarra is very fresh and cooked perfectly. (Only available on weekends) and the campesino Chicken was also delicious but also only available on weekends. I wanted to try the ajiaco here but it was sold out. I think it’s a very popular dish here. I would also like to try the chicaron appetizer here next time as I was too full for lunch. I would eat dessert here but there is a small local family owned chocolate place 2 blocks away and that’s where I would recommend you go after lunch. At cacao...
Read moreI loved everything about this restaurant!!! There is a beautiful local tree (Spanish is not my forte, so I unfortunately can’t remember the name they told me) that greats you as you enter. Their walls and their menu specialties reflect the rich heritage of Colombia, focusing on indigenous populations (often overlooked from my time spent in this country). The food was traditional, authentic, yet exceptionally different from the “tipico” food that all local would recommend you consume. A must for someone eager to explore the real gastronomy offered in this exquisite country. Josué was my server and very attentive, kind, and knowledgeable about the menu. I will certainly return the next time...
