Cartagena Escape Plaza — Hotel in Cartagena

Do yourselves a favor and stay away!!!! I have never experienced such bad service as this place and I have traveled the world. In the begining my girlfriend and I chose to stay at this hotel, since it is located in the middle of Bocogrande, which made perfect sense as we wanted to stay somewhere safe and nice, however, it turned out that Cartagena Escape Plaza cannot live up to the normal standard within the hotel industry.

First we were presented with an apartment which we had to clean ourselves, since the staff had not done a thorough job with their cleaning. After that, we had to live two of our four days without internet/Wifi, which gave one of us problems to attend a meeting related to our work. Thirdly, there were also various problems with our air conditioning and in the end we were kicked out 5 days before our intended travel date, because the owner of the hotel suddenly had to have his family visit and thus we were de-prioritized as guests. I have never heard a similar story from anyone...

READ FIRST ! ! Stayed January 2025. This is one of the last places you will want to stay in Bocagrande. Not worth $100 usd a night. Not even wirth $10 usd per night. It is nasty & infested with roaches , lizards. There was no toilet paper. The t.v. works until it warms up and then the screen goes dark. The owner didn't even have the internet service up to date in the apartamento 601. I told them i wanted my money returned & they promised internet service the next day. Overnight there were dozens of roaches everywhere so we kept the lights on which didn't help much. One night was too long to have to stay there and we moved across the street to...

Me hospedé en uno de los apartamentos de este complejo. Cuenta con dos Torres: amanecer y atardecer (según hacia dónde sus ventanas miren durante el día).

El hospedaje lo conseguí a través de Airbnb (Hospedero: Carolina Sánchez). Se trataba de un apartamento de dos habitaciones, con una pequeña sala que contaba con un sofá cama, de modo que podían acomodarse hasta seis personas (durmiendo en parejas).

Tenía un cuarto grande con balcón pequeño y un baño independiente, otro cuarto más pequeño también con un baño, pero no tiene baño social.

La cocina no es muy grande pero cuenta con todos los elementos y una nevera generosa que permite guardar las compras perfectamente.

En mi caso, la persona que nos atendía a través de airbnb (a quién no conocí personalmente), tiene estrategias definidas en caso de llegada previa al check-in o salida posterior a él.

El edificio se encuentra ubicado en un sector comercial importante con acceso a diferentes restaurantes y cadenas de comidas rápidas. Está a 150 m de la línea de playa y por estar muy cerca de las primeras calles de la entrada a boca grande, llegar y salir de allí en taxi o Uber es sencillo y rápido.

La piscina está ubicada en el piso 15, es una piscina pequeña y poco profunda (1.20 m), adecuada para niños, por supuesto con la vigilancia de sus padres o adultos. Las camas de Sol son pocas y no tienen sombrillas.

El precio por supuesto, dependerá del tipo de apartamento y de quién lo esté alquilando a través ya sea de plataformas o directamente, pero en mi caso la relación calidad-precio fue muy muy buena y volvería...
