Colibri Café — Restaurant in Cartagena

I absolutely loved Colibri and wish I had gone more than twice! I was looking for a place near my airbnb and stumbled across this spot—just a five-minute walk away, and I’m so glad I found it.

They close at 4 PM, and I arrived a little after 3, but they still treated me with great hospitality. I ordered a steak bowl and a mango mezcal margarita, and both were 10/10. The steak bowl was fresh, flavorful, and filling—I even had leftovers, which they boxed up for me. The mango mezcal margarita was top-notch!

I enjoyed my first visit so much that I returned for breakfast another day, and it was even better than another breakfast spot I had tried. I ordered the Colombian breakfast, which was different from what I’m used to but absolutely delicious—I’d definitely get it again.

When I return to Cartagena, Colibri will be at the top of my list. I want to try more breakfast options and, of course, get another steak bowl. My waitress, Angela or Angelina (I can’t remember exactly), was amazing and communicated with me in English, which made the experience pleasant since I only know a little Spanish. Also, they have a menu in English! Highly recommend this spot! Prices are amazing as well.

When I tell you that this place has top tier customer service I'm not exaggerating. It's a cute little spot with indoor and outdoor seating that's tastefully decorated and has mindful quotes (in English) here and there. When we went, I wasn't feeling well and had essentially lost my voice. My husband doesn't speak Spanish and only wanted bacon on his sandwich rather than all the other things a chicken club comes with. The server wanted to make sure she got it right so she put it in Google Translate. That was above and beyond and we were grateful. The food was good. I got a watermelon juice to help boost my hydration and it was VERY refreshing. My French toast was good and his sandwich was too. He liked the fries as well. I need a Cartagena do over and I definitely will be back here because of my experience....

I had an amazing experience at Cole Libra Café, and a huge part of that was thanks to Angie! From the moment I walked in, she greeted me with a warm smile and genuine hospitality. Her attentiveness, knowledge of the menu, and friendly attitude made the visit truly special.

Not only did she provide excellent recommendations, but she also ensured everything was perfect throughout the meal. The service was fast, efficient, and personalized, making me feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer.

The food and drinks were incredible, but Angie's outstanding service made the experience unforgettable. If you're visiting Cole Libra Café, I highly recommend asking for Angie—she's the best!
