Came to Cartagena for a wedding and found Boca Negra as a great alternative to overrated Ciudad amurallada. |The hotel itself is full of character, very artistic and with local feeling but certainly it biggest asset is the staff. |From the first breakfast we've entertained by Jesus who happens to know every River Plate (my football team) chanting by memory and is undoubtedly a charming Colombian. The rooms are tiny, the beds are hard and have stained sheets. The same stain was there during our four day stay, so I guess they were never changed? There’s only one electrical plug for the entire room (none in the bathroom). Found a cockroach roaming around the bathroom. There is ZERO sound proof, you will even hear the neighbor watching its tv a normal sound level. There is no safe in the room to keep your belongings. On a positive side, the location is by the beach, the AC worked in the room and the price was reasonable. The restaurant is good, but they’re easily swamped from being short staffed. Fyi- if you go to the beach, expect to get harrassed every 30 second by a vendor. We’ve travelled to many countries around the world and have never been harrassed to...
