My wife and I traveled to see the big rock. Upon arriving the first hotel we saw was this one. My wife wanted it. We looked around and it looked good at first look for 120.000 first floor rooms no jakkuzi and no food. Little spending for colombia in my opinion. But 200.000 for food and jakkuzi along with the room? However we left to go look for another hotel because I didn't like the price. The next we went to was 80.000 but offered way less as it appeared. So after awhile I chose the first one again which is this one. After we paid. The first problem I saw was the jakkuzi. Old, rundown, and when I walked in it it was almost as if it was a small shield over the floor instead of a real jakkuzi. Along with cracks and holes in it. It held water but it just looked insanely old. Also the hot water came out in a trinkle! The next thing I noticed is that there were no electricity plugs anywhere near the bed. They were up above at about 8 feet from the floor for the TV and 2 in the bathroom. Little odd to have none near the bed.... Upon n looking again the second day for the outlets near the bed. A wall panel just fell off the wall. I had nothing to do with it! Also I noticed the breakfast which cost 20.000 was incredible small. Of course I know in the United States it costs the same for that small amount. But to jack your prices up in a country which typically costs 5 to 8 times less than the United States just in order to make a buck is absurd. I know the laws here are most likely different and all can charge what they want in colombia. However the day previous to the last. I saw a family arrive that were colombians and they asked the cost and the hotel owner didn't see me standing there and said 80.000 per day!!!!! What a thief!!!!! I can not recommend this hotel to anyone because of the BS lies. I don't owe anyone money because I am a United States citizen and want to stay at their hotel. Charge me the same and stop the...
Read moreThis was one of the worst hotels we have stayed at in Columbia. There are so many hotels in this area. Pick another one and save your self the hassle. We reserved three nights and only stayed because we could not get a refund. From the beginning the hotel staff was unfriendly greeting us, as if we were an inconvenience. Often times staff members had a friend hanging out with them at the front desk (or on a personal call), we would walk up to ask a question and they would ignore us for five minutes before begrudgingly acknowledging us. Not very friendly. The rooms were “clean” but the whole building is very poorly designed. We were on the third floor and you could hear people talking on the first floor. There was constant noise and music playing all night. The biggest reason is the “windows” don’t really close and seal, so you could hear people in the hallway as if they were standing next to you. When checking-in they had us sign a rule sheet listing a set of rules to follow including quiet hours and a general statement to treat their towels and sheets nicely. At checkout they had us wait downstairs while they gathered our sheets and then demanded the towels were too dirty. We said they were like that when we arrived, but they insisted we had eaten in the room and ruined them. We didn’t. When we tried to explain, they just started talking over us and basically bullied us into paying to replace the towel. I admit, we should of said something earlier, but given our poor interactions with them, we decided not to. We have been in Colombia for over a month and have had zero problems before this. To top it off, the wifi was terrible at all times of the day. It was constantly disconnecting and I couldn’t even make a simple call. The one good thing I can say is the restaurant staff were always nice at breakfast and the view from the restaurant...
Read moreDon't stay. There are better stays for a cheaper price in Guatape. I had two rooms and I have to say I'm very picky with cleanliness, both rooms had hair on the toilets and hair in the bathroom overall... huge ick. Not only can you hear everything from outside/inside the hotel, but in the third floor you can smell the smoke from cooking and hear the loud music from the restaurant on the top floor. Additionally, my second room smells mustyyy. No refunds which is sort of a scam because in periods of high demand in which the town is full if somebody leaves dissatisfied they rearrange the room and immediately give it to a new guest. I saw multiple people complaining and leaving the hotel so that's a lot of nonrefundable money the hotel stays with. The staff has been dismissive because I paid 120k per night (which the locals consider a...
