Hotel Merlott Lleras — Hotel in Medellín

I checked on B&B's on TripAdvisor and this hotel came up. I know I should have checked, but many hotels n Colombia include breakfast. So I was very surprised when I checked in and asked what time was breakfast and the receptionist told me they did not serve food. None of the other reviews mentioned this.||||I had followed other Trip Advisor recommendations and got a room with windows. Big mistake. We were on the street across from a Burger Bar that played loud music until 1AM on Saturday night. The room was adequate. No chair or desk, but bed was OK. If you choose a room with a window bring an eye shade, as their shades do not block light.||||That being said - the location is good. Just don't ask the receptionist for directions. She opened a map and said "we are here". pointing to the Metro station. I looked at the map and our address and realized that couldn't be and looked for myself. Turns out we were only a 15 minute walk to the Metro and walking distance to many great restaurants. ||||If you are OK with a hotel with the basics in a good location, this serves the purpose. I booked a last minute flight to Medellin and needed a nice, comfortable and an affordable accommodation. Hotel Merlott Lleras far exceeded any expectations I previously had. I primarily booked this hotel based on price and photos that I saw on their website. Prior to reserving, I called the hotel to inquire if I could get an early check in (not a problem at all) and asked if the hotel really was as good as the photos indicated. The hotel manager assured me the pictures were not "photoshopped." Besides an extremely attentive staff, and the hotel's great location, the room itself was extremely comfortable, complete with a nice bed, clean linens/towels, AC, a flat screen tv, free wifi, free local (landline) calls, a safe, iron and ironing board (upon request) and an amazing rainshower shower head with all the hot water you need. Really friendly staff, I was impressed. Brilliant location.|That said: very noisy place. doors are made out of paper it seams: you hear every word spoken in the lobby or the reception, every phone ringing, also at 6am, also withe the 'windows' shut. Be aware there are no windows to the outside in most of the rooms (yet when asked to see the rooms you will be showed the only two rooms with daylight!!
