I recently visited this restaurant with my family to celebrate my parents’ anniversary. I chose this place because of its enticing pictures and positive reviews, hoping to introduce my family to an authentic Korean BBQ experience. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a letdown.
The first disappointment came when we realized they didn’t have a grill, which completely changed the purpose of our visit. My family had never tried Korean BBQ before, and this was supposed to be a special introduction. Without the grill, the experience was already off to a poor start.
The food itself was highly overrated. With half of what we spent, we could have had a far better experience at another restaurant. The staff was fine, and while the ambiance (music, etc.) was okay, the place was completely empty, which should have been a red flag. The drinks were a mixed bag; they didn’t have the authentic soju pictured on their website, though they offered an alternative that was just “okay” to try.
The most disappointing part of the experience was the tipping situation. We paid our entire bill in cash, including a generous tip, as we wanted to support the staff since the restaurant was empty. However, as we were leaving, a waiter ran after us, saying we had been given $7,000 pesos too much in change and insisted we return it. While we complied, it left a bad taste in our mouths, especially since they could have simply deducted it from the tip we had already given.
Overall, the service and product didn’t live up to expectations, especially for a location in El Poblado. If you’re going to charge premium prices, you need to deliver a premium experience—and this was far from it. I wouldn’t recommend this place for a special occasion or if you’re looking for...
Read moreAs someone who has lived in South Korea for around ten years I was expecting to be disappointed by this restaurant, but I was missing Korean food so I decided to give it a chance. It's a bit pricey but I guess that comes with the fact that Korean food is quite hard to find in Colombia.
I ordered the kimchi chigae (chilli soup with kimchi, pork, and vegetables) and was pleasantly surprised. It isn't as spicy as kimchi chigae usually is - and it did contain a couple of things like mushrooms and broccoli which usually wouldn't be in this soup - but other than it was pretty good and contained plenty of meat and vegetables. It also came with a side of rish and a piece of kimchi pancake and some vinegared cucumber.
The service was good and they greet you in Korean and also the same when you leave. The food was quick to arrive but wasn't reheated or anything like that, so it tasted fresh. Highly recommended for anyone who has either never tried Korean cuisine or has a...
Read moreHipster Korean place in El Poblado. As a Korean, naturally, I was pleased to look at all the foreigners filled the place. Drinking hot soup directly from the bowl made me feel like home. The place looks casual and seemed to sell simple instant food as well.
We were led to 2 pax table even though we were group of three. As we ordered quite a lot dishes they moved another table to ours.
The food, however, wasn’t up to my expectations. Most of dishes were soaked with sauce - most of them were supposed to be dry. Maybe the owner chef - I was told he was a Korean - left his home country long time ago. Most dishes were not spicy and it was understandable considering many people have hard time having spicy Korean dishes.
Seafood pan cake was our unanimous favorite dish along with spicy fried chicken.
Felt great to listen to Korean pop music in the heart of Medellin but that was all for me. I wouldn’t recommend this place esp....
