Thank you all great personel at the Saman Hostel for making my stay in Medellin a fantastic experience. This place have been more than just a hostel - actually it more feels like a home since I ended up staying here almost three weeks. Because of it's size, which I would say is small, you really get to know all the people that live and work here well. Everyday you get served tasty local breakfast from the lovely people that work here - maybe Jonathan or Alvaro? As fast as you have a question about going to somewhere in Medellin, food, bars or aswell as you just feel in the mode to talk about the wierdest things - you'll find yourself welcome to ask for help or getting to now the people from here, who really are amazing.
And ofc there's the practical stuff aswell.. :) The hostel is located in the very heart of El Poblado. It's very clean. It has a kitchen. You got to borrow towel for free. You can get help with doing your laundery. The bathrooms are really fresh.. Everything you can ask for!
Mil gracias para todo
Read moreI have stayed before at the Saman HOSTAL and have always enjoyed my time there while visiting Medellin. Friendly staff and relaxed environment. HOwever recently just last Wednesday when I stayed there, I left my bag opened not securing it and either a guest or maybe a staffer went into my bag and took three coins I had collected on my trip rather old coins and valuable one about 130 years old from Bolivia . Anyway, I guess I just felt too comfortable there and would have to accept part of the blame for these three lost coins . If I were the owned Alejandro a great guy he is, needs to investigate this and at least eliminate the possibility of it being a staffer. If it were a guest, it would be more difficult since they come and go. My Canadian roomate highly unlikly so where ever you stay lock your bag even at the Saman Hostal. My fifth stay there but not my last if Alejandro can assure me that this issue has been resolved.
thank...
Read morePossibly the worst hostel I've ever stayed in! The female staff are rude and unfriendly (I could write endless examples). The room is really shabby, and there is only one electrical outlet for all 6 people to share. The floors clearly haven't been mopped in weeks. The location is ugly; the one balcony looks directly across to a Domino's Pizza and KFC. And last night, at 4 in the morning, there was someone yelling right outside the room. When I went out to investigate, the hostel worker told me, "He drunk", some local guy who was a friend of the hostel people. Lastly, the workers here don't speak any English, so I had to ask at a different hostel for info about the city,...
