DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! First of all we were greeted by a very rude receptionist who said we were not allowed to check in until 3pm on the dot (we arrived at 2:39!) And after a very long journey to reach the hotel, I was told that there were no toilets that I could use until check in time (I later found out that there were in-fact toilets available on the roof terrace.) This hotel has clearly been ‘upgraded’ from a cheap hostel and whilst the room was generally OK, there were dirty towels left in the room and nasty stains on one bed. No bed sheet, just a rolled up blanket that looked like it could have been used several times by other guests. Also, no cupboards or hanging storage space, no hairdryer and the window blinds are permanently shut so don’t expect to see any natural light in your hotel room. The bathroom was still the original from when the hotel was a hostel. It was cheap and tacky with three sinks, a tiny toilet cubicle and a bathroom door that didn’t close. There was also a trip hazard in the bathroom with uneven flooring and visible ugly pipes coming down the walls. Hot water was hit and miss, with it being less than a luke warm trickle at best and when the hot water tap was turned on the pipes sounded like a pneumatic drill about to explode. This hotel is in the centre of party central so you won’t get any sleep unless you are out until 3am every night or have very good quality noise cancellation earphones or ear plugs. The room shakes and vibrates from the noise of the bass booming and music coming from every direction. I originally booked this ‘hotel’ for 3 nights but checked out after one day. I came down at 4pm and informed the receptionist that I was checking out and she immediately jumped down my throat accusing me of a late overstay since checkout time was 1pm. She was rude, aggressive and totally unprofessional- shouting at me and demanding to know my room number and name instead of listening to me tell her that I was leaving 2 days earlier than planned or by actually checking her own records to see that I had in actual fact paid for two more nights and I was well within my rights to come down and check out at any time! I have never experienced such a rude aggressive and totally unpleasant attitude from any member of staff in the service industry.
In summary this is a noisy and horrible hotel and absolutely not worth the money they are charging and I would highly recommend that you find somewhere...
Read moreDO NOT stay in this hotel. The room had cockroaches and management at the hotel didn't care about sorting it out. Carlos Lopez hotel's manager is the most rude and unprofessional person you can find. I raised my concerns to him, and he totally ignored to provide any answer. I initially had 3 nights booked at this hotel, and the first night we found 3 cockroaches running around the room. We have a one year old baby, and for the sake of the baby's health we left the hotel after the first night, and moved to another hotel at our own expense, they still charged me for 3 nights, even though I was promised a refund. The room they gave us didn't have any window, and presented a heavy smell of mold. There was not ventilation, and the light of the bathroom couldn't be turned off, so we had to sleep with the lights on. They didn't provide any blanket but only a bedsheet. The room was dirty with hair visible on the floor. You can tell they don't clean the rooms or care about their guests. Do yourself a favor and never book a room with this hotel. You will be disappointed if you do. I wish I had seen the previous reviews prior to booking a room...
Read moreThe rooms have a pretty nice design (I took the airbnb room that has a kitchen and hot tub) and is located in the center of downtown. I booked the room thinking it would be great to be walking distance of everything but unfortunately it is also right on top of a bar or club that blasts music until 2AM. If you love night life, this is for you but if you are there to relax, be zen, forget about this. There are double layered windows to minimize the noise but you can still hear it. Also, i got to experience 2 different rooms with different layouts but essentially the same, and in the 2nd one there was literally a open roof situation near the kitchen and at 7AM someone was blasting music in one of the appartments and its as if we were in the same room lol. At least, you can reach to the staff via whatsap and they helped to ask the people to close the music. The people at the reception are helpful. On a last note, there’s not a lot of hot water - the shower water heats very slowly and then after 5 minutes, it...
