We had two terrific excursions with FlowTrips and the guide Vela! The whitewater rafting was a thrilling trip for my son and I on the Sarapiqui! Neither of us had rafted before and we had such a fun time! It had moments of intense focus on the paddling and some nice relaxing breaks in between when we could admire the wildlife and vegetation in the area (saw several beautiful birds and a large lizard relaxing in the trees) . Vela was skilled at rafting and coaching us through it and knowledgeable about the area we were traveling. He was an excellent host! We stopped part way through to do a short optional cliff jump and little swim and then got to enjoy some mango and pineapple before finishing our excursion. We opted for the photography pack as well and got some great photos of our trip to remember the fun we had! We were happy to see that Vela was our guide again for our hike to the observation point for the volcano hike. Again, he was patient, kind and knowledgeable. We got caught in the rain on our hike but were still able to enjoy the time seeing the green pond and walking through some grazing cows that had wandered onto our path on the way back down to the car on our hike. He brought along another pineapple and rambutan for us to enjoy at the end of the hike while we admired a large friendly bird who was wandering around at the base of the area.

Knowledgeable guide. Friendly and professional guide and staff. It is very easy to discuss options and availability. Only myself and 2 others on raft. Great, not overcrowded. Left on time. Good transport and raft. River was tranquil. Levels a little low as traditional rains are a little late. Go between shade and full sun so wear hat and sunscreen. Lots of bird varieties. Saw a sloth, 3 groups of howling monkeys, fish, iguanas and different types, bats, and too much to even remember. Didn't feel like we were being rushed. Only one other raft on river with 2 people on the day so felt private. Safe and easy rafting. Highly recommend this company and their price was reasonable for experience. Some charging ridiculous amounts. They provided water and a refreshment plus cheese planting and banana bread at end. Yummy

Our experience with FlowTrips was everything we could ask for. We booked it as a father-son trip. We had an excellent guide and we could tell from the beginning that safety was the #1 priority. I had done whitewater rafting before in Colorado and I felt that the rafting education and safety protocols were much more in depth here with FlowTrips. Our guide, Cato, was very knowledgable about the landscape and wildlife. On our trip we saw many birds and a sloth. We enjoyed some delicious fruit, some of the best I've had in a long time, and a traditional Costa Rican meal at the end. Overall it was an exciting and fun day, I would recommend this company to anyone looking for some adventure here in Costa Rica!

We thoroughly enjoyed our biking and kayaking half day tour in March 2021 with Johnny. We biked through national forests and around Lake Arenal, then kayaked under the Arenal Volcano on Lake Arenal. The bikes were excellent quality and helmets provided. The guide will pace you at your fitness level and comfortable distance. They will tailor your trip to your desired experience. We were only a group of two, active individuals, and biked a fun-moderate trail 17 km in an hour. The Flow Trips van will trail you along your journey in the event you need a break or need a quick repair. A small snack of fruit and water is provided for some quick energy between activities. We experienced some of the legendary winds all the wind surfers flock to the area to enjoy during the winter months. Luckily our guide led us to calmer water where we could enjoy the views and do some birdwatching. The staff at Flow Trips is extremely helpful and knowledgable. They have an extensive list of tours available, but I’m sure if you asked, they could customize any trip just for you. I highly recommend trusting Flow Trips with your time...

An easy 5 star for several reasons: great friendly and knowledgeable guide, we met with Brian and Abel who took us on a night river tour, with our 2 year old and it was safe, comfortable, and very accommodating. We even stopped on the shore to allow our daughter to go pipi (potty trained recently so holding it was a hard one for her). fast in providing options on what tour we could do cherry on the cake: we forgot our rein jackets in the guide’s wet bag and realised it a week after, while we were in a total different location (3 hours away). They managed to find someone from their staff, Daniel, to come meet us at our hotel near San Jose airport for our last night, and brought the jackets for a very small transport fee. Very quick turnaround to help us with our mistake. I can only recommend this team, they made the experience overall even more special. Thank you Karin and staff for your kindness, fun...
