We loved our experience at this restaurant. We were warmly greeted by the Chef and his wife. They were so nice and patient with the few of us who didn't speak Spanish. Thankfully my husband speaks Spanish and we were able to communicate. We ordered the Pork, steak, and pulled pork plates. All delicious with big servings. We really liked their house salsa. Bit spicey but so good! The presentation of the food was beautiful! Like art! Our kids had the chicken strips and fries. Chicken strips were hand breaded and fried! Soo good! Came with sauces and all! They also have pure fruit smoothies. Banana Mango was delicious! Service was prompt and food was fast! We were able to talk with the owners who were so nice! They gave our kids a popsicle to go. Super nice people and very clean restaurant! Bathroom...

We have been traveling through Costa Rica for 9 days. My wife and I decided to explore Quepos downtown in the rain and found La Cuchara de la Rana. I ordered the El Tipico (Typical Costa Rican breakfast with rice, beans, plantains, bread, eggs). This is the first restuarant that has been able to cook the eggs to perfection the very first attempt with little to no special instructions. The egg whites were fully cooked, while the yolk was slightly runny, and at perfect tempature. My wife had the El Panqueques (Pancakes) and stated the pancakes were delicious with just the right amount of crisp to the edges. The chef/staff were so welcoming, humble, and enjoyed us stopping by. Great little find and definitely on our list of stops when...

The owners nicest people you are likely to meet. Four of us ate dinner there several times and had something different each time. The food was delicious and the plate presentation was charming. Carrots cut into florets and leaves, a small salad, grilled plantains, rice that was cooked perfectly served with a side of black beans. A fillet of grilled mild fish with a hint of garlic and lemon. This is not a Michelin restaurant but it would not surprise me if the owner did have advance culinary experience which has been brought to their restaurant serving good quality reasonable meals that made us return more than once. The photo is a flambé that wasn’t on the menu but they...

Support this small family owned business and enjoy a fabulous meal next time you are in Quepos!! Chef Alex was working at a restaurant in Manuel Antonio for years and left to open his own place with his wife Silvia. Along with other family members they are providing Quepos with delicious food at a tremendous value. Amazing food and service. This family owned small restaurant is a hidden gem and worth the visit! You won’t be disappointed. The food is excellent and prices are very reasonable.
