Dubrovnik, Croatia 🇭🇷 Hotel Ora Luxury Rooms 4** I'm from Quebec, Canada, and I'm a tourist who travels the world. I stayed here for 2 nights, on September 8th and 9th. This isn't really a hotel; it's a house that's been converted into 4 rooms. It's definitely not a 4-star hotel. My room, #101, was a normal size at 20 square meters and was functional with a desk, 3 chairs, and a minibar (though the temperature stayed around 15 degrees Celsius). There were two windows with a sea view where you could see cruise ships less than 200 meters away. The cruise port and bus station are a 1-minute walk away. The main street is 4 meters from the building, but I was very surprised because the soundproofing in the room is excellent. Another window overlooks the outdoor steps leading to the check-in area, and there's another small window in the toilet. The room also had a closet, a hairdryer, a safe, and a first-aid kit. The room was very clean with a TV and Wi-Fi, but the mattress needs to be changed as it's very soft. There was a kettle with 2 coffee sachets and real glass cups instead of paper ones. The room is very well-lit at night by the interior lights and by the windows during the day. The air conditioning works very well. The bathroom is small and narrow but functional, with a walk-in shower and a separate showerhead. My only complaint is that I didn't like the two envelopes of soap I was given with two small bars, which is not what you'd expect from a 4-star hotel. To get to the check-in area, you have to climb 15 steps with your luggage. My room was on the first floor, but if your room is on the second floor, you have another set of narrow stairs to climb. The son or father who runs the family business can help you with your bags. After the check-ins for all 4 rooms are done, there is no staff on site, day or night. You have to contact them by text message if you have a problem, so the place feels more like an Airbnb. The hotel is a 60-minute walk from the fortress and the old town, but you can take a bus right next to the hotel. The price was 347 euros for 2 nights, and I booked through booking.com. Breakfast and a restaurant are not offered on-site, which again, is not something you'd expect from a 4-star hotel. Overall, I recommend it, but the price is too high for what the room offers, and it's very far from the old town, though very close to the cruise port and bus station. I give it a global rating of 9/10. also they are an evacuation plan near to the door but, I don't know if they are alarme sécurité and they aren't automatic...

The room also had tea & coffee provided, and a mini fridge too. The walk in shower, and bathroom, with toilitries provided, was an excellent standard, all very new and super clean. The double glazing made the room nice and quiet too.|The host Luka was incredibly helpful, and kind, letting us leave our bags very early, so we could enjoy our day, and then check in later. Was also very helpful with local advice, and phone charging too! Very quick to respond by message if you need any extra help.|The restaurant below was very good for food, and the bus stop outside made exploring very easy. |Was ideally placed for an early debark from our boat, and then early departure to airport from the main bus station opposite.|My photos are not as good as theirs, so have left a map instead!|Would...
Read moreWe stayed in the Ora Luxury rooms for one night as we were catching the bus to Montenegro the next day so wanted to stay close to the bus station and it is just across the road from the bus station. Our host met us at the apartment and explained everything to us and answered our questions. The room was very comfortable, had a lovely bed and a gorgeous shower, probably one of the best we have had while travelling abroad. There is a lovely restaurant at the bottom of the stairs called Bistro 49 where you can have breakfast or lunch. It is also near the bus stop where you can get a bus into Dubrovnik every 15 minutes until midnight so it also a great place to stay if you don't want to stay in Dubrovnik city but stay a little outside. The bus ride only took about ten minutes to get to Pile Gate just outside the city walls. Would definitely recommend...
