Villa Malo More — Hotel in Dubrovnik

Definitely not a 5 star, maybe a 3.5 star. Our biggest issue was inconsistent service. The service is a hit or miss depending on the person you are talking to. Sometimes you would get a friendly person but most of the staff wasn't very helpful. We had different expectations from a 5 star and the price tag. We cut short our stay because of this and no one cared to ask what are the issues we are facing. We stayed in a 4 star hotel later and the service was much better and people were more friendly.

An example: Before arriving, I asked them if they have room service and they confirmed with yes in an email. After a very long journey when we checked in, I called for room service and they refused that Villa rooms aren't served by the restaurants and they don't have any way to pack the food for take away. After few requests, they said they will prepare the food and I can myself carry the plates to the room if I wish so. As there aren't many vegetarian options nearby we agreed to that. After arriving at the room, I realised the prepared dish was not what I ordered. And the restaurant wasn't willing to help. Two days later, we call the restaurant again to do the same drill that they prepare food and we pick it up. But now they refuse to that as well. So no room service, no take away boxes and also now you can't pick up food in their plates. It was a bit frustrating how the policies kept on changing depending on the mood of the person you are talking to.

Pros: The one bed apartment was really spacious The view from the balcony is amazing Great view from the breakfast restaurant The cave bar is pretty cool

Other Cons: Pools are not temperature controlled Kitchen is bare bones: no microwave, no bread toaster etc. Cleaning wasn't up to the mark. Our toddler kept on finding rusted nails, half eaten gummy bears all over the apartment. The beach at the hotel isn't a typical beach The breakfast is exact same everyday with no changes with minimal vegetarian options. Just home from an amazing four nights, in Villa Malo More. We honestly cannot recommend it highly enough. Four ladies who regularly holiday abroad together, this trip really surpassed our expectations. ||We stayed in the two bedroom apartment, it has everything need (Comfortable beds, two bathrooms, large lounge, basically stocked kitchenette and a very large balcony area (with sunbeds and table and chairs), that you can access from both bedrooms. The apartments have a lovely private infinity pool, that actually looks larger than the main hotel pool! We had all the benefits of an apartment stay, and we also had full access to the main hotel- Hotel More, which was just next door. We had breakfast included and it is well worth it, with a large variety of very tasty hot and cold food available. Well stocked at any time we arrived, with extremely friendly and helpful staff. We ate in the Hotels main restaurant on our final night and it was a beautiful, if slightly pricey meal. Their are also lots of lovely local restaurants in a close walking distance. | |To summarise it is excellent accommodation for any type of traveller, based in a lovely seaside resort a short distance from the Old Town by car. Staffed with really well trained, friendly and efficient staff. I cannot recommend it highly enough and we all as a group agreed that we would return to our accommodation if revisiting Dubrovnik (Which is FAB!!). ||Tips:|1. We travelled daily into the Old Town and we personally found Ubers the most convenient way to travel. We did price a taxi from the Old Town back out and we were quoted €20, compared to the €8-€12, we normally paid by Uber!|2. The lifts in the main hotel are confusing (for everyone!), but if you can remember that you change on floor 5, if going for breakfast, or down to the Cave Bar etc, it gets a little easier. Fabulous stay with 3 friends. We stayed in a 2 bed apartment at this wonderful hotel. Superbly clean, spacious and so very comfortable with wonderful views. Extremely friendly staff who could not do enough for us. Wonderful breakfast. Highly recommend the friendly, professional beauticians as we all had spa treatments. Great gym and lovely pool areas.
