On the south side of Lapland Bay, the park-forests of Velika and Mala Petka hills provide a wonderful running opportunity among Aleppo pines and Mediterranean shrubs. The paths on Mala Petka hill are gravel and more rugged, while the Velika Petka has a paved path that leads to the top. There are fantastic views of the bay and nearby cliffs. In all, the hilly, well-marked trails are about 3 km (2 miles). There’s good access from the numerous hotels in the area: Hotel Vis, Grand Park, Uvala on the north; and Dubrovnik Palace in the west. For a longer run, we recommend the wonderful path that runs along the water from the Dubrovnik Palace, on the western side of the forest park, heading north to the Dubrovnik President Hotel, about 3 km. We had a big room Bay view on the 4th floor the view was great I could stay for hours there unfortunately .no tea or Coffe or water boilers in this room. You have to cross the street for the beach the hotel has 2 different beach location. Start hiking at Hotel Palace (end stop of bus 4, which starts at Pile gate in old town) and walk towards the sea, then there's a reliable string of red-and-white trail blazes that will lead you along the cliffs. The path is rocky and dusty, but the cliff views are unbelievable. There's also a paved path but it leads through the forest and there aren't any sea views. The spur trail to the highest "observation point" is skippable, imo, as it's just a big overgrown radio tower area and the views are actually much better along the...
