History Hvar Design Heritage Suites, Hvar — Hotel in Grad Hvar

My boyfriend and I booked this hotel in March for a holiday in July and we had paid the full amount for our stay. Only 2 days before we were supposed to check into the hotel were we informed that due to a 'technical issue', this hotel could no longer accommodate us. We were not offered any kind of compensation and the hotel itself did not even email us to apologise for their own mistake. Clearly the management are useless, as it took them 4 months to realise that they had double booked us, and we received no apology or customer recovery. I'm sure the suites themselves are very nice, but I would never want to stay somewhere that is run this poorly. I would recommend anyone that is thinking of booking this property to do so with caution as there is clearly a lack of organisation and care over their customers. I travel a lot in hotels, both professionally and privately, and spend an average of more than 150 nights in hotels. What I experienced here at this Hotel is really scandalous. There is no legal requirement, but for safety reasons, and especially to protect other people, we did a COVID test. Unfortunately, we tested positive. That means quarantine. Therefore, we had to cancel our vacation. We immediately communicated this to the accommodation. The only terse answer was something like this: We do not care. We want our money.||||Even after repeated inquiries, the hotel remained stubborn. ATTENTION - The hotel would rather we come even though we tested positive and infect other guests and staff.||||This is really unbelievable!||||So making money is more important to you than protecting your guests and staff? We booked the King Suite. It was a beautiful room, very big with plenty of windows and a kitchen area.||Christina (the host) met us on arriving off the boat from Split and showed us to our room, giving us hints and tips of where to go, what to do. ||The location of the apartments is amazing, just off the main square, and has plenty of little touches you rarely find in hotels or AirBnBs - a lot of care has gone into them.||We hired e-bikes for a self guided tour and Christina was very helpful in mapping a route for us so we didn’t miss any of the sites - she even met us early morning to make sure we had beach towels to take with us as there weren’t any when we arrived. ||A great stay and such a friendly and responsive host.
