Where do we begin? First of all, the photos look nothing like the reality; the rooms are tiny and in poor condition, the balcony was falling apart and there was a pungent smell when entering the hostel - probably something to do with the lack of cleanliness. The thick layer of dust in the bathroom made me feel like I came out the shower dirtier than when I went in, which is difficult considering I had just spent the night sleeping next to old splats of sick on the wall next to my bed. Me & my friend had booked in for 2 nights but could not bare it so had to book an air bnb (which obviously was not ideal considering we were staying in hostels to stretch our money as far as possible). When checking out we were greeted with unpleasant service which just topped off the whole experience. Overall, we have agreed this is the worst hostel we have ever stayed in (both of us have extensive experience of staying in hostels, and we stayed in hostels throughout our travels around Croatia), and in all honesty if the abandoned car in the front had of worked, we would have used it...
Read moreOk, I’ll try to be as short as possible to tell you about this hostel. BEST STAY EVER!!!! There are just NO other options than stay there if you go to Hvar!!!! ||Good reasons:||1. You’ll find there the best vibe there can be on earth.||2. The place is incredibly well located with the greatest view you’ll see.||3. The staff were the loveliest persons I’ve met in Croatia and they really well selected by a very very very friendly owner that very very very cares about your stay there.||4. You like to party and meet peoples??? So do I. So the staff is doing pre-drinks games and take the whole crowd out EVERY SINGLE NIGTH!!! (You’ll also get to know fish bowls ✊)||||And there’s still a bad reason:||1. You’ll think that you gonna spend a nigth or maybe two there! But can day can already forget about that!!! You’ll keep booking nights at the Shaka day after day!!!!!||||Thank you very much for everything I’ll be back very soon...

However it was a small price to pay for a great stay. The workers were super helpful offering many recommendations for places to eat, drink and visit, as they had deals with many local establishments for discounts. The owner even offered to give us a ride if were to need it. At night many backpackers met at the porch and we all went bar hopping around the city center and to a club afterwards. Absolutely recommend...
