I chose this restaurant upon local recommendation. I was told this was a typical local place.
Prices are fare. Service was very good. A young lady did her best. The wine she offered was excellent.
Appetizers are good. Dalmatian ham was good although I recommend not to have the fat part of it due to its strong and peculiar taste I had never experienced before. There were black olives coming on the side together with home made bred. You do not get much olives so offering olive oil would contribute to the wow factor but I did not ask for it. The restaurant and both our waiter and her bass boy were very busy and both me and my wife were hungry so we just ate what we were given. Overall I would recommend the Dalmatian ham, I am just saying by offering a bit more olives or offering olive oil on the side would give the wow factor that was missing.
The tomato soup was excellent. The wow factor was definitely present.
The seafood pasta was only a good try. Only two pieces of prawns were on the top of the plate and the other seafood staff was so tiny it was hardly recognizable. The sauce was not the chef’s masterpiece. It might have been my fault since I was recommended to have the lamb but since I was not a lamb fan I chose this dish. Probably I should have tried a steak or a fried fish.
My wife had pasta bolognese. In Croatia as we have experienced sauce bolognese is not rich in tomatoes it is made differently. She loves tomato sauce and this came in a way we were not familiar with.
Dessert was fabulous. I had a thing called coup of hot love or something similar. I thought of cherry jubilee but the menu did not state that. This is basically vanilla ice cream with hot sour cherries. I really did enjoy that but please do not associate with cherry jubilee this one is different.
Overall our waiter was really good she did her best. Wine soup and dessert exceeded our expectations. Ham was good. The chef probably had a difficult day or doesn’t like pastas. Overall it definitely does worth to try this restaurant but please take your time with your order.
Cherry liquor was an excellent closing...
Read moreThe food here—especially the squid and fish—was actually quite tasty, and most of the staff were friendly and helpful. However, one older white male waiter provided such a negative experience that it completely ruined our visit.
From the start, he was cold and unfriendly. When it came time to pay, he took my bank card without asking and repeatedly inserted it into the machine himself. This kind of behavior—handling a customer’s card without permission—is incredibly rude and unprofessional.
It was also raining heavily that day, and the roof above us was leaking. When we asked him if we could change seats, he simply shrugged and said there was nothing he could do. Moments later, a different waiter came by and kindly helped us move to a drier table without hesitation. It was clear who cared about customer service and who didn’t.
Later, when we discovered that they had packed the wrong takeaway item (some pasta instead of the fish we ordered), this same waiter opened the takeaway bag in front of us without saying a word and started replacing the food—again, without explanation or apology. The entire interaction felt dismissive and impolite.
To be honest, if you’re Asian, I don’t think you’ll receive respectful treatment from this particular waiter. He consistently ignored our concerns and made no effort to help when issues arose. We left feeling deeply uncomfortable and won’t...
Read moreWe went there because we didn't want to have a long walk to the city. And the current ratings seemed okay with around 4.6 Stars.
But nearly everything that could be bad, was bad.
Location 0/1: The decoration looks nice on the ceiling. But somehow everyone hit his head while standing up. The decoration on the table wasnt existent. It was pretty cold and quickly made. No charme at all.
Service 0/2: People seemed friendly, until they left the table. In the back they were confused about the order, they forgot one meal, so one of our crew Had to eat alone. There was no kindness. We paid the full price and became one little sorry and a Lot of talking in the background.
Food: 1/2: The meat was well cooked, no bad feelings here. But the plate was nearly empty, only meat, sauce and 4 little croquettes. And this for 190 Kuna. The macaroni and truffle sauce were bad. Tasted like convenience. The lamb was okay, but also no good presentation on the table. Taste was okay.
Also no good beer selction. There was only laško beer.
We ate better and cheaper in nearly every other place of Hvar.
Conclusion: Please don't go. Theres better Food and Prices...
