First, I’d like to highlight the positives: my husband ordered the chicken dish and it was very good, the location is excellent, and our waiter was attentive.
Now to the negatives: I specifically asked for extra sauce on my seafood pasta. When it arrived, it had very little buzara sauce, which I mentioned to the waiter. He offered to have a new one made, but I declined as I didn’t want to wait another 30 minutes.
When I started eating, the flavor was just okay, nothing special. The seafood itself was highly disappointing — mostly mushy pieces (small prawns, shucked mussels and clams), with no crab, no prawns in the shell, no mussels in the shell, and only six clams still in the shell, very different to the picture they have on google. On top of that, the dish was full of prawn legs, shells, and antennae (see photo), which I kept having to remove from my mouth. Some of the pasta was also stuck together.
I told the waiter I wanted to speak with the owner, but no one came to talk to me. Eventually, I was told the dish would not be charged, which I appreciated, but I made it clear that I wasn’t looking for free food — I wanted a good meal, which unfortunately this was not. A lady (possibly the owner) eventually appeared and instead of acknowledging the problem, told me that the dish is cooked this way in Dalmatia and that the pictures online can’t always match what is served.
However, I checked other reviews and photos, and it’s clear that earlier in the season, the seafood pasta looked very much like the advertised picture (i also uploaded for comparison purposes) . It seems that now, at the end of the season, the quality has dropped significantly.
Overall, a very disappointing experience.
(Please note they didnt charge any of the food or drinks)
REPLY TO THE OWNER: first you should have left the reply that you posted first where you say you didnt have the seafood in stock, so people can understand the type of owner you are. I was polite the first review, but after your reply you don't deserve even 1 star. Let me explain to you something you obviously don't understand, when you go to a restaurant and for example order a pizza and it comes without tomato sauce and cheese because the restaurant didn't have the ingredients, you tell the client that you CAN'T serve what you are selling or if you rely on the ingredients from the same day, you simply advertise as "subject to availability" and also tell the client in advance, you don't just bully the client when they complain of the very poor quality of the meal you served as what you have done to me. The problem wasn't the crab, the problem was that you served me mushy seafood ( im posting a zoom in picture of a 1/4 of my meal), there was no crab, no prawns on shell, no mussels on shell and only 6 clams, I have had MANY seafood pasta or dishes in Croatia or other countries in Europe, and I NEVER had legs, tails, shells of a prawn without the prawn on shell itself, you served me the leftovers, that's the same as serving tomato seeds without tomato!!!! And lets be clear, I said twice I was going to pay for my meal which you refused, so if you thought that not charging me for a 27 euros leftovers meal was going to get you away from a bad review or I was going to somehow be thankful, you should think twice and start serving proper food and also start owning you made a mistake, which we all make! I don't need free meals, thank you but not thank you!
REPLY TO THE OWNER: You are embarrasing yourself with your clients as the photo of my meal speaks for itself I didn"t even need to write a review, good luck!! How funny, you didn't even saw or spoke...
Read moreEdited: Got there right around 8 am, they didn’t serve breakfast until 9 am. Ordered two decaf double cappuccinos. We sat looking at the ocean view. The server served us very small double cappuccinos and water. Left the place for a breakfast after finishing cappuccinos. The server charged me 15 euros. When I asked why, she said because we ordered double cappuccinos. I felt I got single cappuccinos and this was most expensive cappuccinos . My cappuccino tasted like it should have been. My wife cappuccino was bitter.
RESPONSE to OWNER: My bad math. It was $17.63 about 15 euros. My point is who charges $17.63 for two double cappuccinos. We are just tourists seeking decent coffee in Croatia. I really feel we got ripped off as tourists. The fact that she provides no response to how much she charged showed tourists to be aware of the scam. Also we found nowhere on their website or Google that the kitchen didn’t open til 9. It may be there but it wasn’t obvious. Change the food rating from 1 to zero. The service from 5 to 2 for the response and...
Read moreWe just went here to get food and a drink. The food we both had tasted really good and we got large portions for a good price. The waitress was very friendly and the view is really nice. However my meal, the daily special which included main, salad and dessert had a bit of an issue. My main and salad tasted amazing, however after this we waited for the dessert that never turned up but for which I did pay. After half an hour I decided to ask for the bill because our ferry was leaving 15 minutes later.
I went inside but there was nobody except for in the kitchen. They looked at me and didn't say anything while I was clearly looking to pay since I was holding my wallet. It made me feel fairly uncomfortable and when I finally could ask the waitress it took another 5+ minutes to be able to get the bill. We ended up having to rush back to our boat which is kind of a shame since it started so great with...
