Pula Antic Rooms in Center — Hotel in Grad Pula

Super service from the hostess Maja who collected us from the bus station and delivered us the next day to the airport – all included in the room rate. Their 4 rooms occupy an anonymous converted apartment at number 20 Zagrebacka Ulica, near a tourist office very close to the centre. The conversion into 4 bedrooms and a communal kitchen works very well although sometimes there is a little street noise and from guests coming and going. Note room 4 leads off from the kitchen. Our room was like home from home- the shower leaked a little, ditto the basin waste and the pop up waste didn't, so there were some maintenance issues but only minor ones and did not affect our enjoyable stay. Our room had no kettle but did have a mini fridge and safe. The kitchen was well equipped. It had 4 chairs around a table and a small settee. Overall an excellent Pula base as it was clean and comfortable and we were spared those awful unhygienic cushions placed on the pillows. There is no Reception as such so I guess guests have to be met somehow and keys issued so a mobile phone which works in Croatia to maintain contact is essential.Free Wifi good.Yes we would definitely stay here again as it was superb...

Only positive about this place was the location. It's close to the center. Because we were late we picked up our keys from the outside keycodelocker. The keys sometimes gets stuck and we couldn't open the frontdoor for 5 minutes. The owner gave us the wrong roomnumber so we were trying to open other peoples room. After checking the keys we found our room. This place was very noisy. The doors were screeching all the time. The floor makes noise when you walk. You can hear the other rooms opening their door, walking and showering. So if you want to rest, forget about it. The room is clean but there is no air. It's hard to breath without airco. La prima sera 30/12 alle 22:30 si è rotta la rete /struttura del letto, che era già malamente rabberciata. Cercando di capire cosa fosse successo abbiamo sollevato il materasso trovando delle macchie terribili. L’host contattato telefonicamente (nessuno é presente in struttura) ci ha messo a disposizione una altra stanza, scusandosi per l’accaduto. E richiamando per sapere se fossimo riusciti ad accedere alla stanza (unica altra disponibile, di livello inferiore, più piccola e senza frigorifero). A quell’ora non avevamo altra scelta ma la stanza era con le finestre aperte e temperatura esterna sotto zero, riscaldamento a pompa di calore con il risultato di una notte freddissima. Il giorno dopo con la temperatura più alta, ma non confortevole in ogni caso, ci siamo resi conto del terribile odore di muffa nella stanza (la casa è vecchia ed è un piano terra)... spiegato il perché delle finestre spalancate in inverno. Essendo il 31 era impossibile trovare una altra sistemazione. Ci saremmo forse aspettati che ci venissero a ridare la nostra stanza aggiustando il letto o eventualmente la stanza che nel frattempo si era liberata (probabilmente di categoria superiore?). La porta della doccia perdeva copiosamente al punto che abbiamo dovuto utilizzare un asciugamano per evitare che colasse in camera. La cucina seppur a disposizione era inutilizzabile perché non riscaldata. Comodo il parcheggio a pochi metri dalla struttura. Connessione Wi-Fi nella stanza più lontana impossibile (installare un ripetitore Wi-Fi risolverebbe il problema), sarebbe a dir poco geniale identificare le chiavi con le porte (sono 3 ed entrano in tutte...
