I'm trying to be fair here that we are in a costal spot that doesn't do brunch and is inflated with costs. One thing thing that bothers me about the business is you can't just sit for a drink. You must order food. It's odd to me as the cocktail's are costlier then the food... Understandable to maximize flipping tables, but I think they are one of the few that do this in the city. The guy running the outside spot was really nice and accommodating. That's a tall order with him being the only one and hustling food and drinks from shade to blistering sun and then shade again. Edge of Tomorrow stuff, if you know what I mean (it's a movie reference). Upper area under the olive tree was really nice in the mid day. A breeze, lots of shade and a massive olive branch as old as the city postured above your head (my hair for reference). It wasn't on the menu, but I asked for an iced coffee ☕ and voilà tasty and refreshing as I'd hoped for. Now the food. Eggs Benedict was ok at best. Ingredients: Muffin was ok, ham was ok, the eggs a bit too runny for me (the snot effect when not timed correctly or the water was to cold), and finally a meh sauce that had no relation to hollandaise sauce. I also ordered waffles as this surely is an easy one to hit home. Nope. Somehow we missed something in the batter. They were just so bland. Even the Nutella could not save them. For some reason, the bright idea was to spray the whole plate with Nutella, yet the waffle is so firm, you are basically raking the sauce with no hope of scooping any. Only benefit here is the price was more reasonable then expected. I'll come back to try the scambled eggs...
Read moreFood was lovely, hit the spot. Worst experience on a meal out despite the food being delicious. Locals were very racist and complained to my sister about leaving the toilet door open. Although when every other white person who left the door open it was no problem for the customer with the issue. We were rushed out because we weren't reassured by the staff that we were safe and sound. The manager didn't do anything to deescalate the situation and help us feel comfortable, but was laughing and chatting with the racist customers like it was okay! We now cant go back into town because we are scared for the person of colour in our party to be discriminated against. I would advise being very carful around Pula Town and near this restaurant. I seriously think the manager could've done much more to help us but decided not to. Because of this incident we will not be coming back to this frankly quite poor restaurant which we thought could have been cheaper and more atmospheric to our repertoire again but will be going to a safer place with a higher population of black people. Honest they needed dimmers on their lights to cool the mood and so everyone could have had a better experience. I do think ANYONE in the situation enjoyed including external company. For the amount of money the bill was I and everyone else expected to be able to leave in...
Read moreFood was class to be honest but it was the worst dinner I’ve ever had because it was a very racist experience we had to leave early because the manager supported racist behaviour which caused tension between our parties. This meant we had to swiftly get a taxi back to the villa despite being short on number we felt very vulnerable and so made our evening and rest of holiday SUB PARR. We no have to decide when to go out into town and who goes with who as we need to make sure we are all safe rather than having a nice relaxing holiday in a less prejudiced environment.
GENUINE DISCRACE I genuinely feel ashamed for going to this restaurant despite the good food but if you travel with someone of ethnicity yky must be careful as it sets an example to not only pula as a town but also Croatia as...
