This is a new hotel - just 3 months old, right in the middle of Pula. Perfect for anyone wanting a few days in the town. We had a superior king room which was clean and spacious. The air conditioning was great, the bed firm (which I like) and very comfortable. There was a kettle, a mini fridge, dressing gown and slippers, hair dryer etc. The room had a separate seating area with a table and comfy chair. The room looked nice and it really was a pleasure to return to the hotel after a day out. Although the hotel is right on the pedestrianised main street, once the front door closed you couldn't hear a sound. In fact the room was also silent apart from occasionally hearing other guests coming and going. We didn't have breakfast so I can't comment on it - breakfast is actually not in the hotel but in a restaurant a couple of minutes walk away. We chose to pop out to the nearby bakery for croissants to have with tea in the room - perfect. If you fancy a break from sight seeing or boat trips there is an outdoor terrace to either soak up the sun or laze in the shade. There were a couple of slight negatives though which almost bought the rating down to a 4 rather than a 5. The terrace has a large hot tub. On the first couple of days we were there it really was too unclean to use. There was also a problem with room cleaning - the cups and glasses in the room were never washed, the bed not properly made and on one occasion a dirty towel (not ours) left hanging in our bathroom. We thought it might have been ours left for water conservation purposes except my wife found some 'dirt' on it which we would definitely not have left on a towel. The toilet paper was also not replenished. Given that it's a 4/5 star hotel these mayter really need to be addressed. However, this certainly did not spoil our...
Read moreOur stay at Villa Brandestini in Pula, Croatia, was a complete disappointment. The hotel lacks any kind of service whatsoever. To begin with, they don’t have a real reception, but a person sitting at a small desk at the entrance, in theory from 9 am to midnight. This person is in charge of everything therefore she is rarely there to attend people. This is unacceptable for a 4 star hotel.||First they don't even offer breakfast on the premises; instead, they send you to a nearby bar to get breakfast.||Regarding the room, the air conditioning didn't work, and despite our complaints, nothing was done to fix it. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable, and the pillow had an unpleasant smell, but the worst was the constant noise all night from the pedestrian street, making it very difficult to sleep at all. Additionally, the room had two carpets with black stains that clearly hadn't been cleaned for a long time.||We ended up leaving after just one night, even though we had booked for two.||The customer service from Booking.com was also disappointing. They told us to wait until midnight for a response, which was frustrating and exhausting.||To make matters worse, the room smelled awful like sewage the next morning, and the terrace where the jacuzzi was located wasn't clean, adding to the unpleasant experience. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, especially given how expensive it is. Moreover, they didn't allow us to cancel or modify the reservation, which left us feeling that our money would have been better spent elsewhere.||In summary, Villa Brandestini was a total disaster and not worth the money at all. Look for another place to...
Read moreRun away from this hotel.|One of the worse hotel I have ever done in my life. If you want to sleep at night, which seems to me the basic function of an hotel, then run away from this place. It is located in the middle of the most noisy street of Pula and the isolation of the windows and walls is useless. Until midnight the whole city is bellow your window eating and playing music. And after midnight, when shops and restaurants are closed, you have every 5 minutes a group of drunk people shouting and waking you up. Add to that that the bed is for 1 person and half and not 2 and that for all that poor service you pay nearly 250€ per night and you get one of the worse hotel ever seen. Do not trust comments telling you “in the center of the city but calm”. This is far from being true.|The minimum we would have appreciated would be a warn from the hotel in the description about the noise so to be able to choose correctly another place. ||Finally, the staff is incredibly bad. 3 examples: the only solution they had for the noise was to ask us if we had closed the window correctly… which of course had always been the case. The only restaurant they could advice was the one next to the hotel with which they have a deal. And finally we asked if it was possible to swim in Brijuni and they thought it was not possible which was wrong.||This quality of service and of the rooms is not acceptable for...
