Hotel What an experience! Highlighted pros and cons.
The neighbourhood is not like any other - my wife was reluctant to get out of the taxi. Having said, nothing happened to us or any of bringings. This certainly is not a 4-star hotel, may be 2. On the ground floor there is a Shop. First and second floors have closed down shops. Third floor occupies this hotel and reception shared by another hotel which is on other side of the floor. No uniform for reception staff, just in casual clothes. But they were friendly and helpful and helped when asked.
There was a fire alarm, by mistake. Still I was allowed to go in lift since stairs are blocked off by tape since you can access the shut down shops. I asked what to do in case of real fire and if ok to take stairs. Was told not to worry, there won’t be any fires! Didn’t get the room as in booking. Very small windows bit high up without being able to see outside, like in a prison. Came in August and the A/C is not enough for room. At 18C displayed but doesn’t work for that temperature. Asked for an extra pillow but didn’t have.
But, Hotel is in a very convenient location. Once out, you are in the centre of Split in a minute. We stayed for 4 nights with 2 children and once get used to it, you are OK. Room and bathroom were clean and tidy. But, won’t be staying again,...
Read moreBeware that this is NOT a Hotel. This is a commercial real estate inside an abandoned mall converted into rooms. To enter the "hotel" you need to enter the mall, which only has stores on the bottom floor, and take a glass elevator, and you will see the 1st and 2nd floor of the mall dark and closed down, which is very strange and creepy. The location of the place is very good next to Dioclesian Palace. In terms of rooms, the first room that we got had a terrible sewage smell coming from the bathroom. So we had to switch (upgrade and pay more) for another category room, which was much better. In terms of parking they offered a parking option nearby, which happen to be the garage of an empty house with overgrown grass, that look kind of abandoned and without light. I believe Split is safe, so nothing happened to our car, but we even found the garage door unlocked at one point. So basically there was no difference to simply park the car on the sidewalk and avoid paying for parking in that abandoned-looking parking area on a house. The staff of the hotel was very nice and helpful. In conclusion: the best is the location but facilities are...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE AT ANY COST. The location is an abandoned shopping centre, and it’s a huge eyesore. We realised it was just an old primark with the last two letters ripped off. The first floor is a nightclub from 00:00 to 05:00 so bring earplugs if you want some sleep. The lobby is a balcony over the abandoned shopping centre and honestly looks like a horror game. The rooms are decent to be fair but absolutely stink of feet which they clearly try to cover up with perfume. Don’t worry though, you get used to it. The entrance is some dodgy alleyway and you’re hit with the worst smell of your life as you go up the 2000 stairs to get to the lobby on the top floor. Honestly if there is no other option, just be homeless for the night. The air conditioning was so hot I thought I was in a microwave for a second. I don’t know how they have some good reviews, cuz these prices do not match the experience. Tv is big though and bathrooms are nice so fair play on that one but still. I think there is a car park nearby so you might be able to get a good nights sleep there just make sure you have a tent...
