We visited the hotel at the end of season - last days of August and beginning of September. The COVID-19 restrictions were followed which we liked - wearing masks and putting on gloves when taking food. Most of the staff were pretty helpful and nice, the only thing that comes to my mind is when we asked whether there was a shuttle to the airport from the hotel and the receptionist said no but we managed to find exactly that later.
As for the food, we had all inclusive and it was OK but nothing exceptional - I liked that dinners were different theme every evening. What I was missing was a water machine to get water when you are thirsty, because you could only ask for water to a glass on the bar, therefore we later bought a litre watter and had it re-filled quite often. Also another pity is that there are no snacks that you can bring with you to the beach - there were filled potatoes and toasts but they were served at the restaurant so you had to wait and also dress up to eat those. The drinks were good, also breakfast and lunch, only pity is that the fruit was always the same (apple, pear, watermelon, yellow melon, orange, grapefruit, lemon, plum, grapes). I loved the desserts.
As for the room, it looked exactly like in photos, was very modern and had beautiful views. It was also cleaned even multiple times a day which is great.
As for the beach, we were a little disappointed. It is only a narrow stripe of sand with like 12-16 places and it was full almost all the time. It is also shadowed by the palms growing nearby so if you come in the afternoon you will be in the shadow. Therefore we went to the public beach right in front of it for 7.5€ for 2 persons. The sea was nice and warm but you enter it through rocks so prepare your feet - the depth comes only after like 200 m, so until then you need to come to the sea via rocky floor with some water plants as well. We once visited a different beach where there was only sand and it was great, but we did not mind this beach.
Lastly for the program - there were 2 nights out of 7 with a kind of singer during dinner time but unfortunately maybe because the season is over, there was almost no one staying after dinner to listen to them. The hotel next to Okeanos had competitions and program every night, but this matter we did not mind because at least it was peaceful. We also liked the pool and the sunbeds around it. We also got a card to have one beach towel which you can change every day, which was great.
Overall we really loved our stay and had a great time even with some of the minor disdvantages...
Read moreWe got to spend 5 nights in Okeanos Hotel and it was a very good choice! We selected the hotel through google maps when we arrived in Ayia Napa because of its location (right on the beach and very close to the resort center, giving us an easy access to the port, bus stops, shops, restaurants etc) and very appealing prices. We didn't have any reservations made, yet they gave us a very comfy double room with a beautiful sea view at the 4th floor. We first booked it for 2 nights but then decided to extend our stay for another 3 days. That was not a problem, they immediately made all the arrangements for us to keep the same room for the whole period. Services included: good wifi connection, AC, refrigerator, TV - in the room, rich&varied breakfast buffet (open from 7 to 10 am), pool acces, hotel's private free sunbeds&umbrellas on the beach, free access to gym, sauna and steam showers, tennis court. The accomodation was very good and cosy, we had a very clean room, clean sheets and towels every day. Very modern and good working systems installed - especially liked the "do not disturb" and "please clean the room" commuters instead of little signs hanged on the door knob. Only problem in the room was that it had only 1 free power socket(the british type, so we needed adaptors- that is typical for Cyprus) and another one in which the TV was plugged. We unplugged the TV and used both of them during the nights to charge our devices, so it wasn't such a big deal. The personnel was very, very polite, helpful and efficient throughout our whole stay and very well-intended. On our last day of vacation, even tho we had to checkout at noon, they were very kind to provide us for the rest of the day with clean towels, the possibility to take showers in the hotel, a secure room to leave our baggage and change clothes so that we could enjoy our last day at the beach until our flight back. Overall it was a great hotel for our vacation, think we made a great choice for picking it out of the many other hotels in the area and we highly recommend it! We'll definitely return to Okeanos Hotel on our next stop in Ayia Napa! Many thanks to the...
Read moreFrom start to finish our stay here was excellent! I treated my father in law to an all inclusive stay here as a Christmas present and honestly every aspect of our stay was perfect. I would say from the outset that the hotel had a adults only type vibe which was the majority of the guests but families are welcome too.
When we arrived we were checked in by one of the managers who warmly welcomed us, ordered us a welcome drink from the bar and told us to take a seat and relax and gave us all the information about the hotel that we needed and even told us there would be a complementary bottle of wine in the room for us. Such a fantastic welcome which set the tone for the rest of the week.
The room appeared to be newly renovated or certainly was to a good well kept standard. Bed was comfortable, had a small balcony which for us overlooked the harbour. There is in room tea and coffee, a safe, TV and hairdryer. Bathroom had a walk in shower. Housekeeping was to a good standard and our room was serviced every day which is very rare to since at hotels these days. The hotel has a decent sized pool, nice decked out pool side area, a gym and also a sauna and steam room (although I could not see how these worked).
By far the best asset for this hotel was their restaurant and bar department. Led by Angelos (who was an exceptional front line leader), this was one of the best bar and restaurant teams I have encountered in the world. Always welcomed us and even treated like we were friends. Never made to feel like a burden - nothing was ever too much for them and looking after you really felt like a passion to them. The food was excellent with selection plentiful and changed everyday. Not once we were disappointed by the food and drink offer.
The location was of the hotel was also excellent. Right on the beach with direct access. Free parking if you have a car but walking distance to the town, harbour, supermarkets and other local attractions like the fair ground nearby.
My father in law has already said it's absolutely a place he wants to come back to. Thank you everyone for providing a great...
