This restaurant was highly hyped, based on the fresh fish and great location. Let's start with the location. The scenary is beautiful and especially in the evenings the view is breathtaking, the restaurant being located on the shore, next to the dock.
The restaurant in itself has a clean, beach-feel, with tasteful decor. The bathroom is clean, and surprisingly air-conditioned, but the interior of the restaurant itself is not.
However, the food and the service could be drastically improved for the expectations the venue created.
The food variety is great, having loads of seafood options. Unfortunately, the food in itself is not as fresh as they proclaim, the octopus especially is chewy and the sidedishes on the verge of undercooked.
But the quality of the food could be overlooked, if it weren't for the poor service. It is understandable that with such a large restaurant there should be a system of people taking your order and different ones serving the food. On the other hand, we were a group of 12 people and one person didn't get their dish only after 1 hour and 30 minutes, and another one only 1 hour and 45 minutes. Needless to say we had a reservation prior to arriving, yet the first thing we heard is that we have a maximum of 2 hours to dine. For the inexcusable delay in bringing the food, they offered a desert on the house, which they never brought in the end. The last dish they brought out - after every course was already eaten by the others - was sent back to the kitchen, as it was unreasonably late to be served by the last person. The waiter got frustrated and was not polite at all, trying to blame it on the customer, even though the customer ordered everything alongside the other 11 people attending.
We won't be going back there and the whole experience left a bitter taste in our mouth. There are so many other places with better food, better service and better overall experience which makes it easy to not...
Read moreI found this restaurant thanks to the glowing online reviews and decided to treat myself to a bit of luxury with the idea of a lobster-and-champagne evening. I honestly can’t say whether the rave reviews for the food are deserved because the service was so poor that I ended up leaving before ordering.
From the start, the experience was unpleasant: while waiting for our table, different staff members gave us conflicting information, and one even tapped my friend on the back to get her attention without saying a word first – incredibly unprofessional. Once seated, we waited 40 minutes before anyone came to take our order.
When a waiter finally arrived, he initially seemed friendly and asked how we were doing. Calmly and politely, we replied “So-so,” mentioning that given the heat, we would have expected at least some water sooner. At that point, his demeanor changed completely – he became brusque, justified the delay by saying they were overwhelmed with guests, and abruptly asked for our order. That was the last straw; we walked out.
I refuse to spend a premium price in a place where basic courtesy is missing. Even just a simple “I’m sorry for the inconvenience” would have completely changed the experience and likely kept us there. Fortunately, just two minutes away, we found a lovely taverna full of locals that had both stellar service and outstanding food.
If you value even the minimum level of professionalism and courtesy, I strongly recommend avoiding...

The restaurant boasts a simple yet charming décor that complements its seaside setting, with tables overlooking the bustling harbor, providing a serene backdrop for a delightful meal. The menu at the Vassos focuses on the freshness of the local catch, which is delivered daily by the local fishermen.
I had the pleasure of starting with a perfectly seasoned octopus salad followed by the grilled sea bream, which was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of herbs and lemon to enhance its natural flavors. The accompanying hand-cut fries and Greek salad made with locally sourced vegetables were the perfect sides to this seafood feast.
Not only does Vassos restaurant offer an incredible array of dishes, but their selection of local wines and spirits also complements the meal beautifully, enhancing the overall dining experience.
