Hotel were aware of building works directly opposite which started at 4am every day for most of our two week holiday. Me and my family were woken up every morning and got no rest.
Along with this, very loud and noisy bin collections occured around 5am again, also disrupting our sleep.
The shocking thing was, neither the hotel or Expedia warned of these major issues, otherwise - we would not of booked here.
If you're thinking of booking here next summer, I believe the road and building works around hotel will he continuing as well as daily bin collections directly outside! Do not risk it.
Hotel managers were rude, unhelpful and fake. No sympathy for us who paid all this money and had our holiday ruined, they were the victims apparently. No offer of any compensation or something as a show of good will. Absolutely shocking. Will never stay here again. Very rude staff other than thr cleaners, everyone else is unhelpful.
Oh, all the safes in all the rooms can be bypassed and unlocked by using code 0000 even if you set your own code. Told the managers and they didn't care. Just asked me what I wanted them to do about it. Insane.
I think they are cocky because of their location, they do not care about customer service.
Also, despite having a very young child - they placed us on the fifth floor (very high up) with dangerous balcony. When we mentioned the concern, they did not care and did not try to find another room, even to offer to check for other days. Just lied about being fully booked when they weren't.
Shower is unsafe for children and is a major trip hazard. Rooms basic but very small, should only be used for two people make. If there is more, they just add a very uncomfortable sofa bed for the additional person which will give you backache.
Food is super basic and tastes a bit old as well. TV did not work.
There's one tiny, claustrophobic lift which takes forever to work and regularly breaks down. I heard another guest stuck in there and banging on the door to be let out. The alternative is a long set of stairs which seems to be 40 degrees in temperature.
Shame as I stayed here before a few years ago and it has gone majorly downhill since then. I cannot get over how unhelpful the manager was. That's how you judge something, when things aren't going well - how good is the customer service and this hotel failed miserably with 0/10.
I also heard other guests raising issues and concerns with many of the rooms.
If you're thinking of booking here still,...

Upon arrival, I was greeted with the lovely sight of a front entrance that was less "welcome" and more "good luck." The lift was tiny and the door was wasn't level, making every trip in and out like a mini obstacle course. Not ideal when you're juggling kids and luggage!
Now, let's talk about the room. It was about the size of a shoebox—seriously, we could only move around the room in single file it was a bit ridiculous. The bathroom could have used some TLC; there was mould around the shower and ceiling that really added to the ambiance... if you're into that sort of vibe. Oh, and for a family of four, we were generously gifted only three towels. Because, you know, sharing is caring! The buffet breakfast? Well, let’s just say it was basic enough to raise eyebrows.
On the bright side, our balcony had a side water view, which was nice until we caught sight of the neighboring property’s garbage. It resembled a tip site—definitely not the ocean view I had in mind.
To top it all off, we pre-booked a taxi to the airport for 5:30 AM. Spoiler alert: it was 6 AM it never arrived, leaving us with two small children and a mountain of luggage. We were scrambling to find another ride calling someone. Not exactly the smooth send-off we hoped for!
In summary, while the location is great, the room, service and amenities leave much to be desired. I can’t recommend Les Palmiers unless you're prepared for some unexpected challenges....
Read moreI'll start with the good points; it was a clean apartment, spacious, with daily service (fresh towels etc).||||Now for the truth...||I was in apartment 301, this overlooked a noisy side street with constant traffic going into a car park, service vehicles going to adjacent hotels, people walking up and down shouting at each other all day. The double bed was ok, but the bedding supplied was for a single, so it didn't fit. The 'curtains' were somewhat thinner than tissue paper, so you didn't need to use the lights at night due to all the light pollution coming in from outside, and you could lie in bed staring at the really bright blue sign that read 'Nicolaides city hotel' on top of one of the other buildings.||||I was there for two weeks, and builders were working constantly on the ground floor, admittedly nothing to do with the apartment managers, but the builders made the building shake from 7am nearly every day. I do love the sound of loud drilling, banging, floors being ripped up, walls being knocked down, etc. (I wish I could include videos!). I couldn't work out what they were building, but I'm sure there'll be some sort of restaurant there soon, no doubt banging out loud music till late at night to keep the guests awake. ||||Someone will have to listen out for it in future!||||The whole place smelled of frying, strangely mostly frying fish, although I couldn't see a fish restaurant next to the apartments. If you have a hire car, you'll have to pay for parking as there is none attached to the apartments, there are spaces outside that were €4...
