I have visited the restaurant couple of days ago and I'm was thrilled that I discovered it as I have enjoyed my visit there. The restaurant is located in a cul-de-sac between the two main shopping streets in Larnaca. Their menu is based on a lot of shared traditional Greek cuisine. The restaurant it was busy when I went and a booking is recommended, as a lot of passing customers were turned away, but I got lucky as I have managed to get a table. I have ordered a Greek salad with fried calamari and fries. The restaurant also provided a complimentary starters with a crispy pipping hot traditional Greek pita sprinkle with olive oil and oregano. The starters it was a nice touch and I loved their tyrokafteri but with a twist. The food it was cooked to perfection and the salad it was freshly made with very tasty kalamata olives. I skipped the dessert as I'm was full by the time I finished my lunch. The staff were helpful, approachable and knowledgeable about their menu. Also on Sunday which it was the day I happened to be there they had a live band which the dinners were enjoying and joining in with the singing. As the name goes mostly of the seating area is in the garden with plenty of greenery and plants. I totally recommend this place and I will be...
Read moreAre these reviews real? On the basis of all these recommendations I spent some time hunting for the place, which is not on the street but down a dirty and littered alleyway.
When I passed the alley the first time I didn’t believe it was there, so I kept looking on Maps and saw that you seem to enter from the public parking lot. I went down there, and found they have a back entrance right at the public toilets. Seriously. This area was awful, full of trash and hungry cats. I saw the back entrance to the restaurant terrace there, but it was a disaster and appallingly dirty, so I backed up, returned through the parking lot past the public toilets and looked again for the front entrance. .
Again I was very sorry to see a filthy, littered alley way that they do not bother to sweep or clean even though it is the way all guests must come.
I can only imagine the state of the kitchen. I don’t believe these reviews are real.
See my photos for what I mean. This is not up to Cypriot standards, and if the restaurant owners don’t care enough to keep their entrances clean, then they don’t care enough about the hygiene of...
Read moreGood restaurant, many tables available inside and out in the garden. The menu was showing one vegan option that was not available at the time we went and the staff had difficulty adapting the menu. They offered to bring tahini, another eggplant mezze, french fries (which they eventually forgot to bring), a very small portion of mushrooms and some roasted bell pepper. Given that most of my food was a dip, I would have expected for pita to be replaced when finished but they seemed understaffed or overwhelmed by the number of people in the restaurant. The food is tasty, the pita is hot, the staff is forgetful although very polite. They also forgot for a long time to bring the baklava we ordered so they offered it on the house. The house wine they offered was not great, would recommend to go with one of the many options they have in bottle. Would not recommend for vegans, but could be good...
