Sushi La — Restaurant in Larnaca

Had all you can eat for approximately $30 euro.

I did not enjoy any of the sushi, except the tempura.

I found there was no flavour (bland), presentation was messy, and portions small. Also the menu is very small and limited. Making, possibly, all you can eat option, a bad choice. I did try many many things from the all you eat (maybe 8 options) and all were edible but not enjoyable.

Not the worse sushi I have eaten but equal with grocery store sushi, but better than gas station sushi.

I tried the salad, chicken skewer, raw teriyaki salmon, beef bowl, California (like) roll, tempura, avocado, and tuna (like) roll.

At the beginning service was okay/ good and food arrived in a normal amount of time. But when the big tables arrived (8+ people) and they ordered, your food would take forever to the point of giving up and leaving; which I did. Also, the wait staff no longer had any time for you as they were always with the big tables.

I would not eat here again.

Lastly, I understand it's a different country with different rules/customs... but I would like restaurants to consider banning smoking from the patios. You try to eat your meal outside (away from the cold air conditioners inside) and you have one or five people smoking while you're eating. It's disgusting and smells. (Also how is it legal to be smoking with all the children sitting there?) This last point, is a side point. But please consider in the future. Therefore, I selected it is not kid friendly from the options...

Honestly the chefs and all u can eat sushi is great. We wanted a table for 6 people but couldn’t book it online for some reason so we booked two tables: one for four people and one for two. On arrival we asked if we could merge our tables, since we saw that there was empty l tables with 6 seats available (they turned out to be vacant for another one and a half hours). However, the karen manager/ hostess or whatever this lady with the typical short hair karen haircut was pretty rude about it, saying the shop was open all day and we could have asked if we wanted seats for 6 people. Not like we tried online. So we had to split up into two groups, which was so ridiculous as we wanted to spend a nice dinner together. Absolutely no way to treat the customers.

Now about the waiters, they are not rude at all however they take ages to do anything. The drinks took ages, even a simple coke. We saw our sushi standing on the counter for sometimes more than 10 minutes and we were about to grab it ourselves before the waiters brought it. And the shop wasn’t even busy at the time, it was only us there. They barely ever came to take our orders, which makes no sense considering it’s all u can eat. The chefs skills are great and they make great sushi, unfortunately the waiters and rufe hostess ruined our experience and we will not be returning to Sushi La bar in Larnaca. Two stars only for the food, very...

So, we've enjoyed the restaurant. Really! It's one of the uniquest restaurants we've been in. Partially open, cool music, and crowded location. Great sushi as well, tasted really, really good!

So you might be asking why the low rate:

The place is cool looking! Really, but I've felt like I'm in a "red light club" if you know what I mean. Also, a guy right next to us watched a football game or something, and it was weird.

The bathroom is fine, but the way to the bathroom.. Oh boy, it feels like I'm walking in garbage. Sorry, but the smell between the restaurant and the bathrooms is awful and a little bit creepy.

The 3rd line and the most important: My girl paid for our meal. We had to pay 33€. She paid 50€ and waited. Waited for a few minutes and asked the waiter for change. The waiter went and gave her back just 7€. The waiter said, "That's your change." Now, 50 - 33 = 17, right? But not, my girl was given just 7 and gave 2€ tips, so she left with just 5€. It's really sad. She didn't go back and asked for her money back, and she said she's feeling uncomfortable with asking for money back...

TLDR: Watch out how much you're paying and how much you're receiving back. Good restaurant with nice food that could do...
