Operetta House — Hotel in Larnaca

The stay and rooms were fine, good location. There was a smell of sewage at some point, but I understand that's pretty common in Larnaca. The real issue started after our stay when I realized I forgot a personal item in the room. I know that my forgetfulness is not their fault, and that there was a likelihood that the item wouldn't be recovered, but the process of notifying them and asking them to look for it was RIDICULOUS. I called the same day we checked out and a woman who barely spoke English answered. It took about 20 minutes for her to understand what I was even talking about. She said she would ask housekeeping, but that I should email and they'll get back to me via email. I looked for the email address online and couldn't find an email, so I used the contact us form. Didn't hear back for several days, so I called again, to find out that there were no notes about this at all. This time the woman who answered understood me, and took my phone number. wouldn’t personally recommend this hotel. The building is quite old, and the reception is located on a different street, which made check-in a bit confusing. We had to carry our luggage around to find it and then return to the street where the rooms were located.

The Wi-Fi in our room didn’t work during our stay, and unfortunately, the cleanliness wasn’t great — we found some hair on the bed. There was also no phone in the room, which made it difficult to contact reception if we needed anything.

There’s a restaurant just below the window, and while some guests might enjoy the atmosphere, the live music with a microphone went on until 11 PM and felt very loud from inside the room.

The shower and facilities are quite dated, and overall the room was very basic and could have been cleaner.
