MANYA Sushi & Sake Izakaya — Restaurant in okres Brno-město

One of the most exquisite genuine Japanese cuisine experiences in Brno. Being seated right at the bar provided the unique experience of having the opportunity to discourse with the owners and to get to know the story behind this fine establishment. One of the proofs that when you do something with passion, others will follow. The insight I was able to gain from the pleasant discussion is something I won't (hope not to) forget. All was part of the dining experience.

With my good friend we started lightly:

1. Maki sushi (good old fashioned fresh tuna with just the right rice and palatable seaweed), Duck Gyoza (I have never tasted better Gyoza than these), and Karaage don (marvelously fried, yet juicy, chicken with their pickled radish, which has been a unique experience of its own).
2. My friend Tomáš, enjoyed some proper sake, served in a over-the-cup-flowing-straight-into-the-saucer-maintaining-the-natural-Wa way.
3. As a light dessert, we decided for the Okonomiyaki, which was the only proper way to finish our dining experience.

I'd love to provide some pictures, but let the experience speak for itself. There has not been much time for pictures, the food was simply too attractive for the taste buds, as well as for the cone and rod cells.

Definitely coming back ještě jednou (a vícekrát), the need to taste their special ice-cream based on collaboration with JEŠTĚ jednu does not...

This is the 5th or 6th time that we visited the restaurant, and definitely the last time.

Most of the food was good, but when we ordered the steak, oh my God, it tasted like a hard piece or rubber. It was impossible to chew.

4 of us tried it, no one could chew it. It was stiff. We brought it to the attention of the waitress, she asked to try it herself (oddly enough). She took it and came back after few minutes and said: "I don't want to be disrespectful, but the steak you ordered is completely eatable" she kept on explaining why we were wrong. We did not ask for anything, just gave our feedback to a restaurant that we enjoyed in the past.

They charged us the full price for this dish of course.

On top of this, all the dishes took long time to receive. We got the notice that the kitchen was closing before we got all of our orders - which made no sense. The dish for the our 7 year old child which was asked to be non spicy came spicy.

We payed 4030 czk for 6 people and ended up hungry - had a pizza on the street after that.

The charm of the place is lost.

This is a comment on the owners response: He chooses to post lies on criticism. The steak was not eaten. The waiters was treated with nothing but respect.

Claiming lies about me will not make me...

🤔My experience was not good at all, people give too many stars to this place and it's not even close to good sushi.

All the food they served to us (4 people table) was too much spicy. They put orders mixed in one dish and we had to split it ourselves.

The delayed food 45 min. and when finally arrived the slices were tiny and not tasty at all. The variety of sushi is very limited and without the possibility of combining them.

The most expensive beer 🍺 I have ever paid in the Czech Republic (kc 69 for a 33cl lager) They denied to give us sesame seeds when we ask for them, and they charged extra for a bit of wasabi and ginger that was missing from one dish.

In the end, they charge us a lot, really extremely high prices, especially if we consider their low-quality products and for a restaurant located in Brno a small town in a small undeveloped country, with no attractions or added value.

In addition, they reply to my review of a "personal" point of view and they call me rude for expressing my point of view, How dare you!??? Very unprofessional and uncivilized people working at Manya.

They hate 1-star reviews, instead of fixing the issue they decided to be stubborn and childish, laying and inventing...
