In summary, look elsewhere when stay in Hradec. ||Starting with check in, as mentioned in other reviews, they require full payment upon arrival.. - first time you need to raise your nose.. ||The room I got was in top floor, far behind compare to what you can see on web pictures. Small attic room with 2 separated beds, leaning by the wall - best remind me summer camps of my teenage.||||Second, again as mentioned here, the hotel is just next to main road, just at frequent bus stop. Not only that passing traffic will bother you, but mainly this is key spot for young people when coming home from their party. You will suffer with a terrible noise and scream all night, even in 3rd floor and closed windows you cant sleep at all. ||||Another point are the beds - actually you sleep on wooden bench covered with "slim line" mattress, no thicker than 10 cm - I was lucky to sleep alone in the room so I can pile two of them to have a bit comfy sleep||||I had some drink with me (no minibar in the room, only in the lobby). I realized that drinking glass are totally dirty and filthy.. ||||Next day I went for breakfast, this is really A JOKE - one plate with 10 slices of cheap ham, 5 slices of cheese and small pot of tomato/paprika - nothing else. The juice they serve is just chemical water so do not expect more than you´d get in very lousy pension or B&B||||Towels were not changed during my 2 nights stay, only upon of my request on reception. ||||To be fair, I have to say that in general hotel was relatively clean and is in a great location to walk to downtown - but not worth to take that as advantage to...
Read moreMe and my boyfriend stayed at the hotel grand for 4 nights while we were at rock for people festival. It was one of the only hotels available when booking and because of some bad reviews I was a bit worried. However, we had an apartment on the third floor and it was very spacious, clean, bathroom was a good size. The staff were lovely and there was always someone at the desk to let us in 24/7 but they did check you had a room key so felt very secure. ||||The breakfast wasn’t five star but I was expecting it to be much much worse because of the reviews. There was coffee, juice, yoghurts, bread, cakes, cereal, hot food (eggs, bacon, sausages) and some cold meats and cheeses. Quite a good selection, we were pleasantly surprised.||||For anyone looking to stay here during rock for people especially I would recommend it definitely. One of the festivals shuttle bus stops is just 2 mins walk away and on the days we didn’t want to wait in a big queue for the bus or pay for taxi (250 Kc from festival to hotel), we just walked and it only took about 45 mins on a straight road. ||||We will probably be coming back next year again for rock for people and will stay here definitely. Only down side to room was that there was no air conditioning but when we opened the windows at night there was a bit of a...
Read moreWell, this definitely is not a grand hotel... The rooms are very basic for the price. The breakfast was extremely poor. But the worst experience was the behavior of the personnel. While we were having breakfast and the breakfast time was about to finish in approx. 20 mins, the personnel started to remind us that we would soon need to leave. When I wanted to make some tea 10 mins before the breakfast time was over, I was told by the waitress that I should notice that the breakfast will soon be over and that its disrespectful of me to make the tea so late. The minute the breakfast time was over all the food was cleared out, the music and lights were turned off and we were advised by a very rude breakfast manager that we needed to leave as they had other things to do. Well, I can understand that breakfast time is limited, but there are polite ways how to say that. And I don't expect in a 'grand hotel' that a waitress will call me disrespectful for making tea 10 mins prior to the breakfast end. It was really a horrible experience, we surely will...
