My husband and I stayed here for 11 nights. We had a great experience here! The room was very spacious and very clean. There is a lovely square filled with cafes and restaurants nearby (we went to the Cross Cafe across the street every morning, and for some drinks on the patio in the evenings in the nearby square). We did not try the breakfast at the hotel, but the restaurant looked nice! The cleaning lady noticed his long we'd been there and asked if we wanted laundry service, so that was great.||We found the parking to be a bit expensive-5 euros per night, which seems a bit pricey when you're already paying for a night at the hotel (and especially expensive during our extended stay).||The staff are very friendly and speak English very well (which of course, we didn't expect since we were visiting a foreign country where English is not the primary language).||We rented a car and drove to nearby Pardubice (about 25 mins) and Prague a few times (about an hour and 40 minutes).||This hotel and Hradec Kralove are lovely spots in the...
Read morePerfect location, nice and helpful staff at the reception, good breakfast, but repetitive menu almost every morning.|The rooms need an update. My room was equipped with law quality, old furniture, there was no chandelier or enough lumps in the room, so it was almost impossible to work in the evenings or nights. The walls were so thin, that one could hear every conversation around the room, and also feel an "earthquake" every time someone closes the door of the next room. The bathroom was quite comfortable.|The worst thing was the absence of a cleaning service in the room. I stayed there for 2 weeks, no any single day I had someone cleaning my room, it was completely dusty by the time I was leaving. The only thing the cleaning lady did was changing towels a couple of times and taking garbage every day. She was the only one doing that job, and same lady was responsible for cleaning rooms and serving breakfast.|I would not recommend this hotel unless they hire more and better human resources for cleaning service and also providing...
Read moreRecommended to me, I think because it is in the center and close to so much my friend and I wanted to see, but... this hotel is not really up to snuff.
The rooms are nice enough, and very clean, but lack convenience and comfort items: no soap, no face cloths, outlet for charging only on one side of the bed(s), a huge window above the bathroom that shines light on the bed if you wake up to pee in the middle of the night (solvable with a night light in the bath).
Worst: the restaurant is terrible. Inattentive service even by Czech standards; average food prepared by a slovenly cook (not chef-worthy), in a space that is beautiful and would be packed every night if the food and service was better. What a shame.
Best: Stepan Janacek at the front desk. Helpful, attentive, dedicated to a facility that does not deserve someone of his high caliber. A good hotel, perhaps the Grand Hotel next door, should grab him. I will try that...
