Penzion 33 — Hotel in okres Karlovy Vary

Stayed in this cozy pension with my friend during the film festival, they found a room for us (which was practically impossible during the festival), though we contacted them a day before our arrival. The price was reasonable and we didn't expect much, but were really impressed by this place. ||It's really nice and welcoming, rooms are well-furnished and pleasant, bathroom was great and had everything we needed. Though we stayed there only one night, I wouldn't mind to stay one or two weeks there, as it was really good. ||You get everything you may need for the price you pay, and moreover the atmoshpere is really domestic and warm. The staff was extremely nice, and the breakfast they served was above our expectations. Good wi-fi was available free of charge and worked perfectly in the rooms. Not in the very center, but in a nice and calm area and the city center is within walking distance, just a nice walk through the park and...

Easy to find with good on-site parking. The place looks as though it has been recently refurbished and is very clean. Our room was large, as was the bathroom. Good to have a fridge, but it would have been nice to have a kettle. A good view from the front of the building, but the road can be a little noisy. Lovely breakfast room where a standard continental breakfast is served. ||We were made to feel at home by the owner and family.||It is a short walk downhill into the spa part of the town. Kleine aber feine Frühstückspension. Parkplätze gegen eine Minigebühr hinter dem Haus (bei Buchung mit ansagen!) Zimmer ganz normaler Standard. Sauber. Frühstück mit allem, was man braucht, um sich für den Tag zu stärken. Besitzerin spricht deutsch. Das macht es einfacher aber ein paar Brocken tschechisch lockern die Situation auf. Bewertung: Zwei Daumen hoch!

Hinweis: Bitte nicht von der Karte irritieren lassen. Um zur Altstadt mit ihren Sehenswürdigkeiten zu gelangen, muss man den Berg runter bis zum Fluss Tepla. Das sind 10-15 min zu Fuß.

Tipps: Klar, alle Sehenswürdigkeiten auf dem Stadtplan abhaken, aber man kann den Stadtspaziergang auch verbinden mit einem kurzen Gang zum Hotel Imperial, dort von der 6. Etage aus einen Blick nehmen und dann mit der Standseilbahn runter in die Altstadt. Zum Ausichtsturm Diana hochwandern (40 min) und auch dort herunterfahren mit der anderen Standseilbahn. Von der russischen Kirche kommend rechts rein in den Wald, der Beschilderung Jeleni Skok folgend bis zur gleichnamigen Waldgaststätte und von dort steil runter in die Stadt - da kommt man am Felsen gleichen Namens vorbei.

Bisschen außerhalb der Stadt liegen das Weihnachtshaus incl. Teddybärmuseum, und auf dem Weg dahin das Becherovka-Museum im neu angelegten „Becherplatz“. Unbedingt empfehlenswert.

Hinweis außerhalb Protokoll: Wer deutsches Fernsehen benötigt, wird enttäuscht. Ein paar Sender werden empfangen, aber rauschen. Brauchten wir eh nicht.

Auf der Fahrt zurück nach Hause (in unserem Fall Ri. Norden) unbedingt nach Ostrov in die Konditorei "Chocolate koruna pralines" - lecker Pralinen, Torten und Törtchen. Wer Zeit hat, verbringt noch Zeit mit einem Spaziergang im dahinter liegenden...
