I would describe it as follows at the beginning: The hotel has stripped itself of three stars out of four. ||||The accommodation is in a rather run-down communist building from the 60s. There is little charm inside, as you would expect from old Eastern Bloc buildings.||The room was in a state as if it had not been renovated once since the building was built. We were put in a twin room on the first floor. It was incredibly cramped and there was no central lighting, just the two bedside lamps and dim light in the entrance area. ||||The bathroom was clean, but the doors downstairs were simply broken. The shower head did not fit into the hanging bracket, so you could not fix it in place. The bracket was also attached in such a way that you were afraid it would break off when you looked at it.||There was no shower gel or shampoo, which is to be expected in a 4-star hotel.||The rooms have no air conditioning and the windows can barely be opened, so that there is no air circulation at all. This leads to high temperatures in summer, which make it impossible to sleep because it is far too warm and stuffy. ||||The only reason why this hotel deserves two stars in my rating is the very friendly staff, a good roof top bar and a decent breakfast buffet. ||||However, if the hotel does not renovate, it should be stripped of three of its official stars. Then renaming it a hostel would be...

Read moreHotel Central has an excellent location in the very center of Pilsen. The room window offers a beautiful view of the medieval cathedral (unfortunately through a very dirty window). The breakfasts are very good, varied and plentiful. Unfortunately, the room itself leaves a lot to be desired. The bathroom door was warped and wouldn't close. The water from the shower tray drains very slowly and while taking a shower you stand in water up to your ankles. There was a musty smell in the room. However, the worst thing is that the hotel declares the availability of parking spaces for the cars of its guests. When booking the room, I clearly stated that I would like to have a parking space as I would be arriving by car. In the return correspondence, the hotel did not inform me that there might be any problems with the parking space. On arrival, the receptionist stated that all parking spaces were reserved, despite showing her my booking confirmation with a note stating my request to reserve a parking space. We were helpless, because in the center of Pilsen all possible parking spaces cost 100 crowns per hour, and we arrived for two days. Do you think that the word sorry would be appropriate from the receptionist in such a case? Nothing could be further from the truth. According to the hotel, the appropriate response is a shrug and good advice to look for a parking space somewhere...
