Pension SILVA — Hotel in okres Trutnov

The hotel is very close to the centre of Spindleruv Mlyn. They have all the standard facilities one should expect from a mountain hotel: indoor garage, skis and boots storage, sauna and stunning views. The building itself is small and cozy with aspen-style decor. ||||The room was very spacious, with very comfortable beds, which is especially important when you spend 6 hours on the slopes. Bathroom was clean, equipped with all the standard amenities, and very nice shower. There is also a small kitchenette with a stove top and a small refrigerator. We only used the kitchenette once, but it had all the necessary things to cook a simple meal. There is also a reasonably sized safe-box inside the room. Saying this, at no point I felt like I need to use it for anything more than my car keys and my documents. ||||I feel it necessary to praise the lady that was working at the reception, prepared breakfast and all together took care of the hotel and it's visitors. She always went above and beyond in finding out information and gave us good tips on what to do and where to go. She was always smiling and made us feel like we really matter as customers. Thank you for that!||||I can only recommend this hotel. However, if you are coming in winter, make sure to pack snow-chains, because the hotel is on top steep hill that, even though they clean the road 2 times a day, can sometimes be very hard to drive up. With 3 friends we booked the VIP apartment few months in advance. Contact with Martina at the reservation office was effective.||The Silva Pension is located well above the town overlooking the magnificent mountain and ski slopes. ||The VIP apartment was perfect for our needs at the top floor of the pension. The apartment has 2 bed rooms, living room, small kitchen (with all the necessary amenities for those who want to cook), bathroom and plenty of storage space.||The apartment was spotless and ready for us.||Breakfast was satisfying and delicious. However, there is a surcharge of 1 Euro per day if you want to add eggs to your breakfast. We didn't think that it was a big deal and were happy to pay. The cook to order eggs were wonderful.||Although, Silva is in towen not more than 300 ,eters from the center, one should know that getting to and from the city center is a strenuous excersise so if you are not up to it better drive yourself to and from. The most unfriendly host I ever encountered in a hostel. Have us the feeling that we are unwanted and a nuisance.

The room was smelly. The toilet lid was badly fixed in all 4 rooms we booked.

The hostel mentions a swimming pool, which can also be seen in the pictures online, which is also the reason why we chose this place for our kids. The swimming pool is gone and instead there was a baby inflatable pool. Not usable.

We asked about washing our clothes and were given a price of 200 CZK. When we came to collect the price doubled.

The only friendly staff member was the dog.
