First of all, receptionist was only speaking Czech language, she couldn't even count until 10 in English. Secondly, we arrived late in the evening and we were surprised that there is a small city tax fee (around 42 CZK for 2 pers) which you MUST pay in cash! So we had to look for ATM in the middle of the night and the smallest withdrawal amount was 100CZK. As we were staying just overnight, there was nowhere to spend the rest CZK, this is super inconvenient and should be written somewhere before arrival. All hotel has fatty oil odour through all floors, I am not event talking about dining room. As we left earlier before our breakfast, there was no other option suggested (e.g. take away), so we wasted our breakfast. In the bathroom was no soap - neither next to the sink, neither in the shower, we had to use ours. 1 queen size bed in the end was 2 single beds attached to each other which had two separate mattress! Unbelievable. The hotel in general does not look like in the pictures - in reality it's very cheap, super old school (the doors has a soft covering) and it's begging for renovation. Bathroom was smelling canalisation which was not proper at all. I would give 1/5 stars for this hotel. What a shame. Only the location was okay - you can reach the main touristic...
Read moreBooked the place back in 2023 online, they deducted the price, it was succesful. When we arrived they asked for the price again, but we didn't have enough cash on our debit card for that because we only went for a night. They told us it was alright and let us stay there after they fooled around with their POS terminal. The following morning they refused to serve us breakfast even though it was in the price, we had to fight it out. After we left a few months later they charged the price again and began emailing us threatening us with police because we "didn't pay" for our stay. We sent them proof and they kept emailing back trying to disprove it. We called them and told them that we already paid for it and they told us that we should wait out because they talked to the bank and if they receive it they will withdraw their police shenanigans and respond to us. On our end everything was alright, we paid our dues 2 times at this point. Fortunately we received one of them back a few months later. At this point we are sure they received it because they simply proceeded to ghost us since then. The place is nice. The lady at the frontdesk is also nice in person but the service is absolutely awful. Not...
Read moreI wouldn’t recommend Anette Hotel to anyone—not even my worst enemies. The experience was truly dreadful. Both rooms we booked were dirty (hair everywhere) and had an unbearable smell of raw sewage masked with cheap air freshener. This wasn’t just an issue with one room—it seems to be the state of the entire place.
Don’t let the photos fool you! The reality is far from what’s shown online.
I don’t mind old hotels, but cleanliness and basic hygiene are non-negotiable. Customer service was non-existent; no greetings, no good mornings, nothing that made us feel remotely welcome.
The neighborhood also felt a bit dodgy at night, which only added to the discomfort of our stay.
Also, We had to keep the window open all night in freezing -4°C temperatures just to get some air and try to circulate out the overwhelming sewage smell. Thankfully, we were only here for one night while transiting to London.
If you enjoy the stench of sewage, cheap air fresheners, and cold, indifferent service, this might be the place for you. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and book...
