The place in overall was very mediocre. Location was pretty good, because of it being close to one of the places to visit in Prague, the Vysehrad and also close to tram station, which can take you in 15-20 minutes to the center of the city.
But the apartment itself... was awful, because it had dirty dishes with strange stains, there was no electric contact on the kitchen counter and the kettle needed to be placed on the floor, to get the water boiled. The sandwich maker was dirty.Things that was stated to be available in the apartment and were not there were: microvave, cofee express, hairdryer.
The water flow was tragically low and it was impossible to shower and besides that, the temperature of water was constantly changing and there were moments when the water stopped to flow through the shower.
The biggest issue were the windows. In the kitchen there were total of 3 windows, which cannot be closed, due to them being spoiled. The staff has been informed about that and their response was that they know about it and they suggest to raise the heat on the radiator. In the winter, when there is temperature below 0 Celsius, this is ridiculous. Also due to the windows being slighlty open all the time, the walls under them were dirty, stained and could probably have...
Read moreI'd like to thank you for a pleasant stay. This is my second time using this hostel. The neighborhood is quiet, and the price is very reasonable. The hostel is clean, well-maintained, and has a full bathroom and kitchen. The room is clean, and the bedding is clean. I also want to thank the very friendly staff at the reception desk (a young man with a beard). He was very helpful and friendly. Despite our flight delay, we were constantly in touch, and I kept him updated on our arrival time. While waiting at the reception desk, I watched him explain and recommend things to guests, including what to see, how to get there, and where to eat. He also manages to manage louder groups so that other guests feel comfortable. Everything was impeccable. I'm surprised by the negative reviews; I think they stem from overly high expectations and, above all, from a lack of understanding of the terms and conditions. A hostel is not a hotel! And when complaining about the conditions and staff, let's focus on our own behavior and the mess we leave behind. Let's try to make this place a place that will be of use to other travelers. In closing, I highly recommend this place and will definitely book my next stay at this hostel. Best regards to the owners and the...
Read moreGood for the price perhaps, but that's just it. The reality is completely different from the Booking pictures, as the rooms look worse in reality. The hostel isn't necessarily dirty, but it could certainly use more cleaning - there was dust, there were cobwebs and spiders in the bathrooms, and the ceiling of the men's shower area looks quite bad. The mattress was stained, and the beds aren't very comfortable. I'd normally say that you get what you paid for, but other hostels in Prague aren't that much more expensive by comparison, especially if you're traveling in a larger group. The staff is however quite nice, the lady at the reception is more than willing to help you with a lot of things. Do beware that the rooms get locked with a PIN code, and I'm not sure if it gets changed between sittings, but it can be an advantage if you're anxious with keys. The WiFi is just barely acceptable, for checking messages maybe, at least on the third floor, but nothing more. Overall, acceptable if you're willing to accept such conditions, but if you want a relaxed staying you'd be better off paying a little more money for a...
