Having read the reviews of others, I booked with an open mind and a low expectation. I’ll start with the negatives and will then explain why I’ve given a rating of three stars:||Negatives:||1. As indicated by others, the liquid soap in the bathroom is indeed very watery, which is why we used it for hand washing but brought our own shower gel.||2. For those keen on modern decor, this is not the hotel for you. I thought that this must be a very old hotel as the vibe is of several old decades of “taste” thrown up into a bedroom and bathroom. Personally I’d seen photos from other reviews and, given that I read that the hotel was built in 2010 and more modern than I thought, I found it more amusing than offensive.||3. According to other reviews the breakfast is not good. There is a fridge in the room so we bought some fruit, yoghurt, rolls, cheese etc from one of the shops and made our own (note that yoghurts had to be eaten without spoons, as no cutlery was available).||4. The room had a TV but no remote control. We enquired at reception to be told that there is indeed no remote control.||5. The bed wasn’t particularly comfortable, and twin beds had been pushed together with two single-bed bottom sheets tucked in horizontally, and two single duvets. It didn’t exactly exude romantic break vibes, but again expectations were already low.||6. The room is cleaned for your arrival but not cleaned during your stay. I say “cleaned”, but my husband pulled a chunk of hair out of the bathroom sink plug that definitely didn’t match either of ours.||Positives:||1. The hotel staff were, on the whole, very sweet and helpful. We were also able to leave our luggage safely with them as we arrived before check-in opened and we left Prague several hours after we checked out.||2. The location is absolutely brilliant! It’s a short walk from the castle, the old town, in fact we got to most places within 10-15 minutes.||3. We only paid £55 per night!||To summarise, there’s absolutely no way that this is anywhere near the four star it claims to be. That said, if you want a basic place to sleep and wash, that’s very cheap and centrally located then don’t rule this one out. Take on board the negatives, keep expectations low and you will get what you paid for and...
Read moreI booked a two night trip with my gf from 19.-21. of Aug. And when we arrived to check into the hotel, the room we were given was horrible. Immediately when we got to the room there was an intense chemical/cleaning supply smell. It was so intense that within an hour we had severe reactions to it, both had bad headaches, my eyes got red and swelled up, my throat started swelling and my chest was very heavy. It was extremely uncomfortable and we recognised that we wouldnt be able to stay there. We contacted the reception, but as the manager seems to be completely unreachable they couldnt help. We made the decision to book another hotel for the two nights, and ask for a refund. We returned to the hotel on the check out date to talk to them again, but got no clear reply. We were told by employees that there had been previous issues in this room, that the previous couple staying there had also complained and they had tried to fix it, but the room was still unhabitable. The employe also told us that they didnt think it was fair the room was rented out, and that is our personal opinion as well, this room should not have been rented out in this condition. Its been 6 days since I sent an email to the hotel, I have asked twice for an answer, and have not received anything as of yet. No respond to my email, no refund. Definitely dont recommend. Would like to note that the people in reception were very kind and helpful, they just cant do much and we do not fault them for...
Read moreI’ll start by saying The location is perfect, but that’s where it pretty much ends upon arrival I was by a heavyset younger guy who was not too friendly… the rooms are tacky in a cool kind of way. However, we noticed that the AC didn’t work and I went downstairs to talk to the front desk and he told me that they can try and reach someone from maintenance and that he’ll give me a call when he heard back. I waited about 30 minutes and still no callback. so I decided to give him a call (from my room.) he said there was no one available to come and there’s no other rooms available so they would try tomorrow. After a miserable sweaty nights, I talk to the new person downstairs who was not informed of the situation (shocking I know) this time. He was cordial enough to come upstairs and take a look at the ac unit, he muttered something about new lines/units being installed, which obviously was a lie since it currently looks like that’s been there for a while. We also had a remote control that was not compatible with the brand of the a/c unit, when we pointed that out and he said they would fetch us a new remote, but that never happened in the two additional days we were there. It was so stuffy, even with the windows open. Oh and speaking about windows there’s no blackout drapes or decent toiletries provided.
I don’t understand why some front desk people are so miserable and unhelpful. Stop lying to...
