My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in late September 2024. We had asked for and got a room high up in the building with views over Prague Castle and the Little Quarter (the picture shows our view). We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Klarov very much, and would like to share our experience.||The hotel:|A charming older building with 19th Century details and high ceilings. Our Queen-themed (the British rock band, not the sovereign) room was renovated to a modern standard. ||If you cannot do stairs at all, this is not the hotel for you. It has a small elevator, but to get into the lobby and to your room, you have to be able to walk at least a few steps up and down. ||Room:|Our Deluxe room was spacious and comfortable, and the daily housekeeping kept it very clean. We enjoyed nice and warm weather most days, and the in-room climate control kept it perfectly cool during the night. There were som beeps at night from the air-conditioning, but the fan itself was not loud. ||Nice spacious bathroom with good water pressure. Products offered included shampoo/conditioner, shower gel, liquid hand soap, hand- & body lotion, tissues, cotton rounds and cotton sticks. ||We had both a safe locker and a small fridge/mini bar in our room, which we appreciated. There were also some complimentary chips and nuts waiting for us, which was a nice touch. ||Location and surroundings:|The hotel is located in the Little Quarter, on the west bank of the river and very close to the Manesuv Most bridge. This means that you are out of the Old Town crowds, but still close enough that you can walk everywhere. ||The Malostranska underground station and tram/bus stop is very close, just across the cute park in front of the hotel. When we had the windows open, the noise from trams, buses and other traffic was disturbing, but with the double windows closed, we could hardly hear it at all. ||The staff:|Daniel at the front desk was very helpful and friendly, and spoke excellent English. He was the only reception staff we met. The staff in the breakfast room were also very nice. ||Breakfast:|The included breakfast buffet had a good selection of warm and cold dishes, and great coffee from an automatic machine. You got the most variety of breakfast foods if you got there early, but even if when we chose to sleep in one day, we got what we wanted of scrambled eggs, bread and fruit (and did I mention the coffee?).||In conclution: |We will definitely stay here again if we ever...
Read moreBottom line: The hotel is excellent! extremely recommended.
We stayed at the hotel at 14-18/12/19 during our stay at Prague.
The GOOD:
Prime location: The hotel is located at the center of the city, at walking distance from any of the main attractions of the city. There is a metro station just across the road and a tram stop just below the hotel which several tram lines pass through.
Magical view: You either get the view of the famous Prague castle or the river, both are amazing.
The staff: The staff are extremely nice, very welcoming, speaking perfect English and are willing to help with any issue. Moreover, we visited during my birthday and had some amazing treatment from the hotel staff.
Clean: Everything is clean and nice, gives a pleasant feeling all throughout.
The Building: The hotel building is a 19 century residence house which is beautifully renovated and kept in very good state.
The OK:
Breakfast: The breakfast is OK-ish, you get everything you need but don't expect any vast verities. Also doesn't change so much and stayed pretty much the same through the 4 breakfasts we had.
The Not-so-good:
This is a private case that happened to us and most people won't encounter but still worth mentioning. We had a family member who lives in Prague visit us in one of the mornings and wanted him to eat breakfast with us. We asked the day before and were told by the staff member (which was pretty new) that the price for extra person is about 100 CZK. At the next morning at breakfast, we verified again, this time with the senior staff member, and were told that the price is 450 CZK, which is pretty much a price of full dinner for 2 at a good restaurant. Of course it was too late as the family member was already at the hotel, so we had the breakfast but stayed with a bit...
