My spouse and I had high expectations for Marina Ristorante, as it was the chosen venue for our second wedding anniversary dinner. The restaurant had been on our radar for some time, thanks to its glowing reputation and promise of an unforgettable dining experience. While certain aspects of the evening lived up to the hype, others fell disappointingly short, resulting in a mixed experience. The atmosphere was undeniably one of the highlights. Perched along the serene seaside, the restaurant exudes a romantic and elegant charm. The soft sound of waves and the warm glow of ambient lighting created a picturesque setting, perfectly suited for a special occasion. The menu, boasting an array of authentic Italian seafood dishes, further elevated our anticipation, promising a culinary journey through coastal Italy. Service, however, was a mixed bag. While the waitstaff were generally attentive and polite, the hostess left much to be desired. Her impatience was noticeable, particularly when we had questions about the menu, which detracted from the otherwise pleasant experience. This lack of warmth and professionalism in such a key role was surprising and disappointing, leading me to rate the service a four out of five. As for the food, we were eager to dive into the menu, given the stellar reviews we’d read online. For starters, we opted for the Burrata and Carpaccio, expecting the bold, fresh flavors Marina Ristorante is supposedly known for. Unfortunately, these dishes were a major letdown. The Burrata lacked the creamy richness we anticipated, and the Carpaccio was bland, with no discernible seasoning or depth of flavor. The price-to-quality ratio was shockingly unbalanced, especially for a restaurant of this caliber. As someone who rarely leaves negative feedback—check my other reviews, where I typically award five stars—this was a rare and notable exception. My advice? Skip the starters entirely; they simply aren’t worth your time or money. Thankfully, the main courses redeemed the meal to some extent. My Spaghetti Mafiosi, featuring tender, juicy beef, was well-executed and satisfying, showcasing the kitchen’s potential when it hits the mark. However, I was surprised by the absence of any spice, as the dish was described as having a kick on the menu. My partner’s main course was equally well-prepared, with fresh ingredients and thoughtful presentation that partially restored our faith in the restaurant’s capabilities. In summary, Marina Ristorante offers a stunning seaside setting and a few standout dishes, but it’s hindered by inconsistent food quality and uneven service. For a special occasion like an anniversary, you may find moments of delight here, but temper your expectations, especially regarding the starters. Based on our experience, I’d give Marina Ristorante a cautious four out of five, with hopes that they refine their offerings to match the promise of their...
Read moreDobré odpoledne,
Rád bych se podělil o své dojmy z interakce s restaurací. Nedávno jsme s přítelkyní navštívili restauraci na počest jejích narozenin.
Good afternoon,
I would like to share my impressions about the interaction with the restaurant. My girlfriend and I recently visited a restaurant in honour of her birthday.
As planned, I wanted to provide the evening with a pleasant surprise for her in the form of a candle in the dessert and the best table by the window against the sunset. About two weeks in advance I made a reservation where in the commentary I told about my intentions to spend my birthday in the restaurant and asked for a candle in the dessert, I asked in advance to leave one portion of teremisu as my girlfriend's favourite dessert trying to close the question of a pleasant bonus in the evening.
To clarify the reservation and details, I called the restaurant directly and told the person who took the phone call.
And so, X day.
We came to the restaurant and apart from the fact that in a half-empty restaurant we were put on a table near the table with prams, which was a bit disruptive to the atmosphere of the evening, as well as on the request to sit at another table nothing was said except reservation at the remaining tables (I also work in a restaurant and understand the principle of table reservation, but if there was no request for a particular table, I don't see any problem in giving a couple a better table), which actually surprised me when discussing in a restaurant of this level, I was not happy with the customer service
Wine selection? What can I tell you, it was very disappointing to be able to get a glass of only three wines to choose from, and at a very reasonable price, for a henna limited to three?
We had a bad evening, and we actively discussed some plans, and as for me, it is not quite appropriate to dismiss jokes from the side of the discussion, when we are clearly not interested in communication with the staff more than to take an order or a question about the refill of wine / water (This is really right and for this unequivocally "+"). In general, the approach of the young man did not please, the jokes were very sharp and more than inappropriate, which we made clear, to which we received a counter response.
I have already said about the table, but what de in this case we can provide us with dessert and a request, confirmed by a request for a candle? The correct answer is nothing.
What would you like to say at the end? Please pay attention to the staff and the set of runners.
No issues with the kitchen, the food was neatly served and was quite good, tasty
Unfortunately I'm not sure if I'll be back to your restaurant again, the service can make things better even if the food wasn't good, but not the other way round.
thanks again for...
Read moreRUDEST STAFF I HAVE EVER MET. Read other people's bad reviews and you will see exactly what I mean. I didn't even get to the point of ordering before I was humiliated by the staff so badly I had to leave.
I reserved a table about three weeks ago and was so excited to spend my last night in Prague watching the lights come on on the bridge and the castle while eating a lovely meal. I am a solo traveller and made that clear when I reserved my table. When I came in the hostess was polite enough and double checked I was on my own which I obviously was. I was taken to my table and was sat down.
A waited came over and asked how I was to which I said "Yeah great thanks, you?" To which he responded "We'll see" which was weird. I had dressed up for the meal and I feel I presented myself as someone who was ready to spend some money so I didn't understand that response if it was a hint at tipping etc?
He offered me water to which I said yes please and he walked off. I put my coat on the chair opposite with both members of staff I would end up interacting with seeing and then he brought my water back over and poured it into my glass and then also the glass opposite me. I said nothing and was going to ignore it but he then went "Oh, right. You're alone." And then looked at the waiter who was stood close by and they proceeded to both start laughing at me. Like, really laughing at me. He then just stood there in front of me laughing in my face while I was bright red and clearly upset so I asked him to give me a moment and he walked away.
I turned to the window to try and calm my anxiety and wait for my face to not be so hot and when I turned back around, the two waiters were good together laughing quietly between them and looking at me. When they saw me look they both burst out laughing. I was so humiliated. I stood and got my stuff together and turned to leave. One of them said "You're leaving?" And I said "Of course, you're so rude." And I went and told the lady at the door about the situation.
It took me twice to explain what they had done to he twice to the point I was almost in tears before she even apologised for them and offered to sit me downstairs, away from the view I had booked for to get me away from the waiters. WHY should I have to suffer because your staff are immature bullies?! I've never been so offended in my life. So I left and I will be sending an email to the business as their attempt to ruin my holiday will not go unanswered. DO...
