Most authentic Mexican food I’ve ever had on this side of the Atlantic. For me an absolute must whenever I visit Praha! From the margaritas all the way to the enchiladas you’ll find something for everyone here at a very reasonable price. The atmosphere and service add a great touch as well that makes it a memorable place to visit with friends or family. One big plus for our group this time was to have vegan/vegetarian options which this place has as well! Thanks also to our super nice waitress Diana for putting up with my friends who’ve never experienced this type of cuisine. I suppose for the record if you’re looking for a non Mexican drink or two - for that one guy that wants a piña colada - this place will have you covered as well! In general a great restaurant for group dining, especially if you have an international group that speaks primarily English. The staff will have you covered! At this point it’s a mandatory stop with my friends after hiking up and to the metronome over to the presidential palace and back down. Great way to end a long days journey!

THEY DO ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS! Please disregard any reviews stating otherwise below!! Coming from Texas, where the food ranges from "Authentic Mexican" to "Tex-Mex", and being a visitor of Monterey Mexico and El Playa Del Carmen. This good or BEYOND what I could have imagined. Granted we came during 4pm (middle of lunch and dinner where the restaurant was not busy), the service was fantastic, and the food came out super fast. The steak fajitas had so much flavor, and plenty of steak (topped with grilled Gouda cheese). The guacamole was perfectly flavored with lime. The rice and beans had a smokey flavor that was just the right amount of "different". And my Carne Tampiquena was a huge portion of meat and cooked to the perfect medium rare doneness. The classic margarita tasted fresh, and not with premade juices. Highly recommend this place. If you're missing "home Mexican cuisine" this restaurant is the place to ready. Although, it will make you miss Czech Republic more when you go home.

Didn’t expect to find legit Mexican food tucked just below Prague Castle, but Alebrijes really delivered. It’s on a quieter street in Malá Strana, just a short walk from the tourist buzz, but it feels like a little escape once you’re inside—colorful, relaxed, and unpretentious. I ordered the Suadero—flank steak marinated in milk and spices. The flavor and texture were on point—tender, rich, and just different enough to stand out. Honestly, it was fantastic. I almost went back a second time before leaving town. The rest of the menu looked solid, with a mix of Mexican standards and a few regional touches. Friendly, easygoing service (English spoken), and they genuinely seemed to care that you enjoyed your meal. Prices were reasonable. It’s a bit out of the way compared to the main restaurants, but 100% worth the visit. If you’re craving something different or just want a really well-done meal in a quiet spot, this is a great pick.

If you're looking for an authentic taste of Mexican culture, Alebrijes is the place to go. From the moment you step inside, the vibrant atmosphere instantly immerses you in the rich traditions of Mexico. Unlike other spots, Alebrijes doesn’t just offer a meal – it offers an experience, capturing the essence of Mexican cuisine and culture with every detail.

The authenticity of the food at Alebrijes is second to none. The dishes are true to their roots, showcasing regional flavors and ingredients in ways that feel both familiar and deeply connected to Mexican culinary traditions. You’ll find classics like tacos, mole, and flautas, each crafted with a level of care and respect for the original recipes. The spices are perfectly balanced, the meats are tender and flavorful, and even the salsas have that homemade, fiery kick that makes you feel like you're eating at a family gathering in Mexico.

When comparing Alebrijes to Adelita, it’s clear that Alebrijes stands head and shoulders above. While Adelita's has become a popular choice for those seeking a "Mexican dining" experience, it falls short in terms of authenticity and attention to detail. Alebrijes delivers not just in flavor, but in the overall vibe. The décor is also worth mentioning – colorful, lively, and thoughtfully designed to reflect Mexican folk art and traditions, from the whimsical alebrijes (the brightly colored wooden creatures) to the murals that line the walls, all of which transport you directly to the heart of Mexico.

Alebrijes isn't just another Mexican restaurant; it’s a celebration of Mexican culture. Whether you're savoring a dish or soaking in the vibrant surroundings, you can feel the love and dedication behind every element. If you want an experience that goes beyond just food and connects you to the heart of Mexican heritage, Alebrijes is...

We visited last night, and the whole experience was terrible from the beginning. Please learn how to pour a beer. The first one was way under the fill line. And when we asked a top-up, all 5 staff seemed confused what we actually want. The newly brought beer was over the fill line, with nearly no head. I had Tacos Carne, and for the price it's the most boring meal I have seen in long time. Four taco shells with only dry meat, onion and coriander. Not a huge portion of a pretty boring meal. At least some cheese, or sour cream would be nice (without charging extra for cheese) Each of the meals had same condiments, also quite boring. The waiter came and offered some Mezcal tequila. OK, we agreed on a tasting sample first, before deciding which one to go for. Then we ordered 4 shots, they were messily poured - no measure, slightly spilled into one of the dishes as handed over. Then we found the tasting sample was charged for. OK, I understand if we did not order the actual shots, then it makes sense, but paying for the sample was a bit unnecessary. The final bill had two extra items on it, valued at 450,- total. We originally paid the full bill without checking properly, left and then checked, finding 450,-CZK extra added. We did get the cash back. Yes, it can happen, but with all the previous issues, this was a definitely a confirmation this place is a mess. We were offered a free drink as a compensation for the trouble, which was a nice gesture. Thank you

We were told the staff is new, but since this is not your first branch, I would expect a better and experienced...

We loved this place. Food was thoughtfully prepared with quality ingredients. Service great. One person stood out: Reinita (probably not spelling it right) but she knows who she is! We found out we had a common love for Antigua Guatemala! This place was very busy on the night we were there. Most tables were reserved, which tells you that it is very popular with a young crowd, mostly locals. The food used the freshest ingredients. The dishes we had really had a nice spice kick in them. Rather pleasantly surprised given the mild flavors of Czech cuisine. I had enchiladas verde and loved them. Whatever my spouse had she loved it too. She is celiac, so nice to have most dishes gluten free naturally. The classic margarita was exactly what you’d expect and all was very reasonably priced.

One thing to remember, you may see some reviews from “Joe” in Arizona or “Dufus” from Texas talk about how they know all about Mexican food and make claims about authentic or not. Keep in mind, every area of Mexico has vastly different regional cuisine. So, if the food is prepared by a Mexican, using quality Mexican ingredients, and the food has great flavors, then it’s good Mexican food! Try this place, I think you’ll...
