Restaurace Zvonařka — Restaurant in Prague

Cheeky, average and tried to scam tips. Burger 2/5 - bun dry, patty OK-ish but fell apart. Would not consider a burger again. Beer was good and reasonably priced, service was average, not bad, not fantastic, flank steak was better, 3/5 or so and the view and location is 4/5 with a nice little breeze in the heat. HOWEVER the waiter tried to scam us 10% in tips, tips is fine but they are NOT mandatory. If I want to tip, I'll do so and decide myself how much. This guy just added 10% on top and pretended it's normal and maybe tourists would buy it. Not us. He ended up giving back 100, tip was 75, but we're not in the business of not paying so we left 25. He pretended not to hear me calling him 3-4 times, then proceeded to reluctantly pay me back and promptly leave. Owner; maybe you should increase your prices, wages or get better staff - this kind of behavior is not OK. Probably won't be back for a long time, although this is close for us. People check you bill for added tips you've not...

I recently visited Restaurant Zvonařka in Prague, and while it had some positives, I must admit there were a few drawbacks. The outside grill was unfortunately out of order during my visit, which was disappointing as I had been looking forward to some grilled delights. Moreover, I found the prices to be a bit high for the portion sizes and overall value provided; paying 11 euros for uncooked pork neck and a small portion of fries felt somewhat excessive. On a positive note, I appreciated their efforts to combat insects in the summer, but it didn't entirely eliminate the issue. The ladies waiting staff were generally pleasant, but some seemed a bit annoyed, which dampened the overall dining experience. In the end, Restaurant Zvonařka fits the mold of a typical Czech restaurant, but it might benefit from some improvements to make it stand out...

Half a star for the food, half a star for the location.

I brought friends from out of town here and regret that I did. We arrived at 19.30, ordered our food by 19.40, and got our food at 20.30 and only after bugging the manager and waitresses several times.

The service during the meal wasn't terrible, but when we were paying our bill in cash, the waiter would not give us our change, repeatedly telling us and insisting that "the service charge is not included! At least 10%". Even if the service charge is not included, can't I get my change back and then decide how much I want to give?
