Book for a cheap stay and an average experience lol!
I cant believe I haven't reviewed this place yet? Went in April around the Easter holidays (do not recommend everything was shut oops) which im assuming also meant hotel staff weren't working because for the 5 days we were here we did not meet a single staff member. Yet that did not ruin the hotel for us, in fact after the initial shock we liked it. We arrived early to CPH and wondered if we can check in early. Called up number they said and were left on hold for a longggg time before finally being allowed in with a code and instructions to collect the key. The girl on the phone was one if the weaker English speakers but doesn't change the fact she was still mostly cohherent. We paid for a 4 person room and got 2 bunk beds. Room was small but for the price we literally didn't care at all. Idk if or how often they were cleaned because once again... we saw no staff at all but then again we are quite nice, tidy and respectful people so we didn't make much mess anyways. In the other reviews of this place they talk about it being dirty and while we did find some flaws with the place, it wasnt unmanageabley bad for us luckily. Had shared toilets but I think the hotel was dead, whether thats due once again to holidays or not, so it was only us using the shared toilets infront of our room. There was definitely one other room occupied down the hall but there was another bathroom down there. Toilets were always decent, but I must iterate again that me and my friends are clean people so we didn't make much of a mess that would require cleaning or we would notice a stain that hadnt been attempted to be cleaned or something like that. Place is pretty good and took us 20 mins everyday to walk to central. Didn't eat here so couldn't comment on that though i will comment on the place being confusing to navigate because I have no idea where we would've eaten anyways haha. Definitely doesn't look like the worlds best hotel but for Denmark (a very expensive country) this was a pretty average experience. Nothing too good and...
Read moreI'd describe this hotel is a hostel with separate rooms. |The most important issue was poorly organized check in process. It almost left me stranded, even though I had a prepaid reservation.|If you plan to check in after 5 pm (or so), you ABSOLUTELY must have a phone capable of making regular phone calls (not whatsapp/other data voise calls) in Denmark. The hotel is staffed only during the day (smth like 8-17 or so) and after 5 pm you can only check in remotely. The hotel never informed me about this process in advance. They do not have a simply city phone outside of the entrance to call customer service. Neither do they accept whatsapp calls, which is kind of amazing. My attempt to reach customer service by email failed--the message bounced back. |I only managed to check in by serendipity, thanks to a help of a stranger, who let me make a local call. Not letting guests know about this process in advance and not having whatsapp enabled almost led to a very serious problem for me and for anyone with the phone not operating on Danish networks. It escapes me why wouldn't they accept whatsapp, inform guests in advance, or just place a simple local phone at the door to make it easy to reach customer service. These simple steps could prevent a very serious and completely avoidable problem for their guests.|On the positive side--the location is good. Easily reachable by metro from the airport (20 mins). Quiet street. Bars/restaurants within walking distance. |The hotel is NOT near the railway station--as some of the past reviews say. Those reviewers must be confusing this establishment with...
Read moreThis has to have been the worst hotel experience of our lives. We emailed a few days before arrival that we would be arriving late; no response. When we called the day of arrival we were assured no problem, just give a call when we arrive. Also parking was included, all good. ||So when we arrive: it takes 10 minutes for them to answer the phone… by somebody who is completely unable to find our reservation, has to call other people and takes again more than 5 minutes to give the code to the front door. Then we go inside to the locker box, only to be hung up on! Without a code to get our room key of course. It takes us 10 minutes of calling back to get another person on the phone, who then takes another 5 minutes to find the reservation and finally gives us the code to get our room key. ||That room turns out to be in a building in a different street and when we finally manage to locate the room, it opens up to be a sauna. We have a travel clock that tells the temperature which is over 32°C inside. With no air condition, a fan, or even more than one small window that opens in the room. I slept on the floor in front of the door so we can have a little draft by keeping it open through the night while keeping my family safe. ||And the promised parking? Full. Staff on the phone were completely unwilling to give any suggestions for parking in the area, so we were left to our own devices after driving since 6 in the morning with two small children arriving late at night. And it doesn’t provide wifi. ||If you love days with bad endings, do come to...
