Start with the positives. The guys are very nice and the facility is clean, especially for being in the water. And the location is good for those using the train station.||But we checked out early at substantial expense.||You have a choice when sleeping. Heat or noise. The boat is adjacent to a heavily trafficked bridge and there is no air conditioning. Surprisingly, unlike other boats, it absorbs and holds heat very well. So, even with outside temperatures in the 18-19C range the room will get up towards 27 with the windows closed.||Even being from a desert climate - that's not sleeping conditions.||So for two nights we did the open everything to cool the room (the bathroom area has no openable windows and stays warm), then close to sleep.||That works for a couple hours before things are ‘wake sweating’ too warm. And even with the windows closed you will hear heavy vehicles on the bridge - the low rumble isn't something that is easy to block. They do provide earplugs. As reference, I'm hearing impaired and was woken up by sound multiple times during the night. The pillows also aren't. Literally, folded in half, mine started to resemble a bath towel.||The west side of the room (all the windows) has floor to ceiling blackout blinds. The east side has a window above the shower and in the door. There is no way to block that light coming from the east.||Lastly, it is a nit, but when housekeeping they appear to have thrown out our luffa that was hanging in the shower. The guys both were respectful about it, but insisted neither had seen it and were the only two in the room - it was there when we left for the day and wasn’t on return. ||My wife agreed to a ~10% discount against all three nights, meaning we paid for three, only stayed two and got an adjustment that covered the luffa and a token for the aggravation and literal lack of sleep. It's what she agreed to, but with a fully booked place they certainly should have done more. Note that the conditions were not part of the heat wave. It is simply the setup - you’re awake from noise or awake from it being too hot. As stated, I’m hearing impaired and live in cities - it might be lovely in another location away from a bridge. ||I get why others like it. It is unique and has a good party potential with the roof deck. But after two nights of not sleeping due to temperature, noise and light intrusion it was worth it to pay for a room I wouldn’t use. ||If you decide to stay, or even if you don’t, have dinner at Cafe Alma about four blocks away. Excellent. And bring your own pillow plus...
Read moreWe were excited to visit this hotel after seeing a UK celebrity chef stay here on a tv show! ||Rooms are over 2 floors and all face the water. We were on the 2nd floor which was accessible by a spiral staircase. Up another floor is a great terrace with comfortable outdoor seating. ||Rooms were a good size with plenty of storage. We found the bed perfectly comfortable, if a bit creaky. The downsides to consider: |- The floor to ceiling windows have a lovely view but the blinds are a bit of a pain to pull up without clambering on the furniture. |- There is a window on the main door and a couple in the bathroom that let in light as they are not covered. |- The rooms get really warm (and it wasn’t hot during our stay). There is a window and door but opening at night lets in insects and using the blinds blocks the airflow. |- Lots of boats go by. We thought this was great but would not be for you if you want privacy. |- The bathroom has a glass door and a floor to ceiling window between the shower and the bedroom. So probably not a good idea to share a room with someone you are not ‘familiar’ with. |- The furnishings are getting tired. Our glass sink was chipped and I did manage to scrape myself on it. ||Breakfast is simple but sufficient with bread, cheese, salami, yoghurts, pastries and fruit. I’m gluten free and had mentioned this in advance. They very kindly got me some gluten free granola and extra fruit. You can have breakfast anywhere on the boat which is nice. ||Other perks are that there are unlimited free hot drinks, a fridge you can share with|the other guests and and honesty fridge with drinks and snacks.||The location for us was great. It’s a 10min walk to Christianhavn metro station (which goes|straight to the airport), or 15-20min walk to main|attractions across the bridge. Bus routes are also simple and the Harbour bus nearby. ||Staff were friendly and helpful and they stored our bags on the day we checked out. ||We would definitely return if back in Copenhagen and...
Read moreGreat floating hotel with just 12 rooms and is something a bit different.||Great location - within walking distance of the centre of the city and lots of main attractions. Tivoli Gardens 15 minutes away.||OK sized rooms (this is a boat) with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the water. Bathrooms are great - not huge but have every thing you need. Lovely big walk-in showers - no baths.||Beds are super comfortable with soft pillows. ||There is no dinning area but there is a breakfast area where they serve light breakfasts - meats, cheeses, fruit, yoghurts, jams and spreads nd delicious freshly baked breads and pastries. Plenty to eat. Free coffee and tea all day - just help yourself.||There are a few stools at a counter in this area but the idea is - is to take your breakfast and sit up on the top deck where there are tables and chairs, sofas and loungers - It is a fantastic view and a great place to sit and just watch the world go by on the water.||You are welcome to buy your own food - and there is a fridge provided. There is also an honesty fridge where you can get beer, wine, soft drinks, snacks and sweets.||Order in your own food or pick something up at any of the fantastic delis or food halls and have a picnic on the top deck watching the sun go down! This really is a lovely place to relax....considering you are in the middle of a city!||The staff are fabulous - very friendly and helpful.||We stayed 5 nights and I wish we could have stayed another 5! ||There is no food served here or dining area - just the top deck so be prepared - if the weather is bad you may want to have your breakfast in your room, The rooms although not huge have a chair and table area so this would be fine.||R|Thus hotel is such a refreshing change - spoil yourself and book in for a different experience. I loved it and will be staying...
