If you're into antique colonial buildings to stay in while you adventure around the colonial zone while also keeping it affordable, then is a good spot! It was kind of like an old school Inn!
Cons:
A/C could have been colder. Mini fridge that was part of our room deal was not that cold, our things melted.
That is it.
Now, keep in mind that it is rated a 3-star hotel. However. Pros:
Roger/Staff customer service 10/10. We made a reservation accidentally that was past the curfew, and he gracefully moved it at no additional cost to us to the next day. Constantly making sure everything is up to par and that we're happy. Even gave us additional towels on request.
Beautiful garden w/ free breakfast. 24/7 bar. Beautiful local paintings everywhere, they support local painters so I really loved that. Just beautiful small touches everywhere around the hotel.
Hot. Water. Nice. Pressure. Free Wi-Fi Free Roku: youtube, netflix, etc. Bed is soft, though if you're used to a firm bed this may be a problem. Our room had a balcony overlooking one of the colonial zone streets which was very relaxing and quiet, great for smokers or people who just wanna get some fresh air? Espada de doble filo. lol Impeccable clean areas. Every single area was impeccably clean. Clean bathroom. They provide bar soaps, towels, bed sheets, and toilet paper. Keep in mind as you'll have to take the rest.
Overall it was a great experience. Would stay again for another affordable Colonial...
Read moreI had the opportunity to visit the DR for 5 days and stayed at this hotel. The hotel was nice for the area and my room was mostly comfortable. I had room #11, which had a balcony overlooking El Conde street. The location was excellent for the Zona Colonial area, with plenty of restaurants and shops to visit. There were plenty of police and military in the area, which made me feel safe coming and going. There was a lot of noise from El Conde street, with multiple businesses across the street and lots of traffic, including very loud motorcycles. However, it was much quieter from 10 pm through 6 am. The breakfasts offered were excellent, with coffee and juice served. They did not have water for breakfast and when I asked for some, they referred me to the bottled water provided in my room (2 each day). The staff were all very professional and friendly. I did wish the bathroom had been nicer, with updated fixtures needed. The shower head was a detachable wand and was offset towards the corner of the shower, which made the angle of the water cumbersome. The sink faucet had no hot water, and the drain cap was missing. Overall, a...
Read moreWOW!! What an amazing experience!! LOCATION: right on the strip you want to be on in the Colonial District of Santo Domingo!! Service is superb! Arriving at 8 pm after a long flight Freddy was able to give our taxi directions and warmly welcome us and show us around the hotel and our room... and also serve us a long awaited cervesa from the bar inside the hotel. The next day Roger was such a gracious host- serving us an amazing breakfast each morning accompanied by advise on where to travel from here- including transportation and destinations across the island. WE HAD THE PLEASURE TO MEET THE OUTSTANDING OWNERS!! They, too, were fantastic to speak with about their adventure remodeling and owning this hotel. We feel very privileged to have stayed here for 3 nights. 100% great all around. Highly recommend!! Ps check out El Buho Cafe blocks away from the hotel! Best food and service we have had here in Santo Domingo! Roger can also give...
