The restaurant was so gorgeously designed. It was maximalist at it's best that keeps your eyes engaged where ever you look. Everything down to the beautiful mismatches hand painted plates to the quirky bathrooms and rainbow colored jungle on the patio. The food was outstanding! By far the best meal we had during our trip to Dominican Republic and in general VERY GOOD! We are foodies from Toronto and research good food wherever we travel. For Appetizers we ordered the Crispy Shiitake which was amazing, and the Tonstones de yuca was just.. meh. For Mains we got the Udon Noodles which wasn't udon more like a pasta, aside from that detail the flavours were definitely delicious. Also ordered the Ravioli with Short Rib filling which were also delicious. The best thing was the Con Con Rice with Goat meat. For those who don't know (including me) Con Con is a rice dish with parts of the rice being cooked till crispy, that with the goat meat and poached egg smashed into the rice tableside was perfection. The service was great. Ryan(or Bryan) was our server he was great. All the food was finished tableside and served. Then he kept an eye on us and came back to serve seconds. To wrap it up we had Pie de Coco which was like a Coconut flan, it was good but too much sweetened coconut flakes on the top which overwhelmed the delicious that laid underneath. Overall, a great meal and experience!

What an espectacular place and experience! I mean this place is a MUST! The decor, atmosphere and ambiance is second to none and something I have never experienced before…it’s darn right perfect! From the art work, to the plate setting, to the decorations and lighting - I can’t gush about it enough…it’s just SO COOL! The service was extremely professional, very attentive and friendly. All staff I came across couldn’t be more helpful and attentive if they wanted to. Now the food! WOW! It was amazing and perfect! All the flavors and the size of the servings were delicious. The Wagyu Beef Tiradito was very flavorful and very delicious, the Chistorra Roll was fantastic! The flavors were enhanced by each bite and they were pretty amazing. My cheese, mandarin and chicken salad was absolutely nothing short than perfect! Now the dessert the Fondant de Dulce de Leche WAS ESPECTACULAR! Mouth-watering! Seriously IT IS A MUST!! It was OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING! ONE OF THE BEST DESSERTS I HAVE HAD!!! My only mistake was not returning here every night during my business trip in the Dominic Republic to try their other menu items…because NO other restaurant that I tried while in Santo Domingo came even close to the AMAZING food, service, atmosphere and dinner experience at Maraca. My compliments to the chef!

Discriminatory treatment of customers! We stopped at this restaurant for a late lunch, around 2:30 p.m. and as we walked in I noticed the hostess (Emily) gave us a disgusting look. She asked us if we had a reservation, which we did not, but went on to seat us. While the restaurant was not even half full, with plenty of room in the main dining room, and in their very nice courtyard, she seated us in the back of the restaurant, away from any other customers. The waiter came, started giving us the specials, and we went ahead and ordered, but after he brought us our drinks I asked him “why were we seated here, as if you were embarrassed to have us as customers?” His response confirmed my suspicion that something was not right, he “said, it wasn’t me, I have nothing to do with it.” So I asked him to check with the hostess. After he left, I noticed that he was avoiding our table, so again I called him over and asked him if he had talked to the hostess, and without looking me in the face he said that the hostess had seated us there because my friend was wearing a hair net. So I asked to speak to the manager, who came over and after I explained the situation he said "didn’t the hostess explain to you why?" Obviously not, but he did offer a very poor apology and nothing more. Had they explained to us at the door that they had a dress policy, we would have had the option to go somewhere else, or remove the hair net. But instead, they chose to treat us as people with some kind of contagious disease and place us in a corner away from everyone. At this point I was prepared to leave the place, but my friend talked me into staying. However, in spite of the food being fairly good, I did not enjoy my meal, and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There is a respectable way to treat customers, and this place obviously has no clue. The hostess simply made a judgement without giving us the option to adjust and we were treated in kind by everyone thereafter throughout our whole meal there.

The service wasn’t bad. Unfortunately, our waiter was not the best. The table lacked napkins, which we didn’t get at 5 during our dinner. Also, it didn't seem like the waiter was in a good mood, and his overall performance was really difficult to overlook, and it was very disappointing, to say the least. The food was good and its taste was decent. A group of 4 and order Sea Bass, Cocon Rice (Fried rice) with crab meat and a second portion with goat, Okra, and friend Olives. The fish was not good and highly overpriced. I've had better in local areas in Santo Domingo, Las Terrenas, and even San Victor RD with a more decent price. RICE was good, and its portion can feed 2, BUT it's a boring place with no prese tation. I think they should add a side or color to make the rice pop. The Akra and Olives were the best part While it's understandable to aggressively overprice food to make a profit, the fish and bottle water were shockingly overpriced. If the food tasted amazing, I wouldn't complain about the price, but the food was mediocre. Overall, the food was OK. The service was bad. NO Napkins through our whole dinner 1 hour. The atmosphere and decor were amazing. I would recommend it for its awesome atmosphere. It's probably best to taste anything else, but the items I mentioned

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to and wish there was a location where I live! (Vancouver, Canada) The food was exceptional and delicious, the environment and ambience was absolutely gorgeous and high class. The SERVICE was the BEST service I have ever had in a restaurant. If you eat here at Maraca, they will treat you like royalty and serve every little thing to you, it is amazing and everyone is so lovely, kind and respectful. I was obsessed with the grilled octopus, we also ordered their delicious cocktails, and I also had fried okra and the mandarin/goat cheese salad. Definitely coming back here when we visit the Dominican again. 100% would recommend to anybody going to the Dominican! Worth the drive to Santo Domingo from Punta Cana if you want a high quality meal and experience.

What a wonderful experience! Even the exterior is beautifully painted and invites you in. The restaurant is gorgeously decorated in a very art deco manner, and there are plants galore. Of note, we had open toe sandals on and so we were asked to sit outside otherwise you need heels or closed toe shoes to eat in. The food was really great. The grilled octopus was really good, but honestly wasn’t super special compared to other restaurants where I have had the same dish. The really winners of the show were the concon mixto de mariscos and the ceviche a la maraca. The concon does a great job honoring concon and yet introducing a different way to eat it. And the ceviche was doused in oranges instead of your typical limes which was awesome! Overall, great food, good service and amazing atmosphere!
