Upon reading reviews about this place my partner and I were looking forward to our stay after booking a "deluxe double" room with mountain views and peace and quiet. What a disappointment. On arrival at about 2pm we had to wait about half an hour for our room to be "cleaned". We were then put in a room with a double bed and set of bunks which had a view of the street and power lines. It was dirty and there was plaster peeling off the walls in the bathroom. The kithen was also dirty and poorly equipped. The curtain was a thin piece of material that didn't even cover the whole window so the street lights shone right in to the room. There was a lot if street noise also. After we took showers the bathroom smelt of sewage. The weirdest thing was a women with a set of keys came into our room randomly at about 6pm. She was in a night gown and just apologised and then walked out again, pretty sketchy if you ask me. Oh and how could I forget, there was a g-string hanging on the window lock. Someone who stayed there previously must have left it behind. The wifi did not work either. I have stayed at more run down places in South America but I was paying very little for these places and knew what I was getting. I feel like we were either given the crappiest room or the whole establishment has gone down hill in recent times. It's just not worth the money and so far away from everything. Stay somewhere else. We had two nights booked and ended up canceling the second night which is the first time in 6 months we have ever...
Read moreI stayed here on a whim and found it to be quite comfortable for budget travel. There were at least 5 Venezuelans living there, which makes sense since the rooms are laid out dorm style with a kitchen in the common area. If you make advanced arrangements with Olga she can probably get you your own room. Breakfast included. Olga is a very warm hostess, kind of like your mom away from home. There is no off street parking and the first night they let me park in their living room! Yes. You read correctly. See pic below. The second night I got over my fear and parked my car on the street with no problem. A great place for back packers or the savvy budget traveler wanting to feel like part of a home for a...
Read morewow i wanna come back soon.I stayed here for the first time mountain view room. We were given a warm welcome on arrival and this spirit of aloha carried over the next three days. We were happy with how quiet it was here, and only a short block and a half to Front street action. Breakfast was the best in the morning with four choices of main course.I love the views from Guapulo, everything is so near and you can also enjoy the quitenes. The price was awesome, the food was excellent. We didn't use our car as there are plenty of shopping and food/beverage options a short walk away, i love the trips they gave us to the volcanoes and else. definitely i...
