Hotel Carolina Montecarlo — Hotel in Mariscal Sucre

Where to begin... We were recommended by a family member Hostal de la Mancha... at first at was a bit hesitant because the word "hostal" was not the first thing that came in my mind for our friends to stay while attending our wedding in Quito. However, we visited the location in one of our trips and we loved. Very spacious and clean, free internet and great service for an unbeateble price.||We booked about 10 rooms (double and single)... At the time of our arrival everything was ready for us without a hitch.... ||The staff at Hostal de la Mancha tailored to all of our needs... let me remind you that we had a group of 25 young South Florida partiers in our group and they all loved it.... the breakfast buffet was very good and additional items were only a dollar or two .... ||The guys in the front desk where always there to help... calling taxi for us, recommending places to see and making sure that everyone in the hostal was satisfy with the service.||Overall it was a great experience... we are very thankful for their efforts! I would definately recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit Quito... is truly...

A great find! I visited Ecuador for a week on business and remained in the country for almost three more afterwards. Initially, I only intended to stay for a few days at the Hostal de la Mancha but liked it so much that I remained for two weeks. And then returned again after a few days for almost another week. Colleagues stayed at a Hotel nearby and paid twice the price for significantly inferior facilities and service.||||The room was brilliant! Clean, spacious, comfortable bed and excellent Wifi included in the price. All rooms have huge picture windows with stunning views out over the city to the mountains beyond. The room was quiet and I was able to work and sleep with no disturbances.||||The Owner was friendly, extremely helpful and could speak good English. The staff were friendly and professional throughout. Breakfast was adequate and included in the price. I was able to park my hire vehicle inside a locked courtyard with 24/7 access. Horrible experience. PAY ATTENTION! We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights during a trip organized by a travel agency. Nothing bad with the hotel itself, but during the day when we were outside someone who had access to the rooms (so probably some staff members) stole cash from our luggages. The safety deposit boxes in the rooms were not working, so it was impossible to use them to storage values, however the money was hidden. At least 8 people from my group went through a theft, and the same happened in other two groups sent from the travel agency. The hotel refused to get any responsibility. Be careful!!!!!

EDIT: dear staff, you’re wrong. The theft happened on our 2nd stay, not the first one (when personally I’m arrived at 9 PM and left the following morning, so it’s obvious that no one else could access the rooms during a few hours in the night). Re-check your cameras on 11-12 September, when we stayed for two nights leaving our luggages in the rooms during the cleaning service, and I’m sure you will notice something different from what...
